Actually Mal once you select Trifecta on the menu if you have the race up that you want to bet on the check boxes show up so you can just tick them as per STAB and NSW....

NO
I Use telephone speech express which gives me .7% to about 1% turnover rebates
For every $100 invested I get a kickback of a minimum of 70 cents to $1-00 in cash
At times I have about 10-40 bets to place at dogs /trots meetings which I place in one hit
Speech express is a bit slow, but the $$$ is the buffer

I assume Netbet pro is easier ?
Would need to be
I cant be rooted typing in all my bets in any case, too festidious and time consuming, and more prone to errors in placing bets

I use Unitab spasmodically
I ring my bets thru for my multis and Sports betting

Some 40 years after Armstrong lobbed on the lunar we go thru with a different lunacy with Unitab
This is the sequence for putting a trifecta on the net

PLACE A BET [had to find Trifecta on the menu]
MEET [ had to find AT amongst the seemingly millions of meeting options]
RACE [easy to find as I have this inert abiility to count to 10]
SELECTIONS [had to type in the 1st/2nd+ 3rd selections]
MAXIMUM SPEND [ had to work out the cost of a $1 unit, my maths this time failing me, so Guessed an amount]
CLICK HERE FOR COST [was below what I wanted for the $1 unit]
MAXIMUM SPEND [resubmitted the amount for a $1 unit]
SEND [to activate the transaction]
CONFIRM [to complete the transaction]

The bet takes about 30 seconds to place on Unitab [or about 25 seconds of you submit the MAX SPEND and its right]
On Supertab/Nsw TABs the same bet takes me 12 seconds

With the other TABs you click on the numbers for your selections EASY
With Unitab you have to type in the selections, takes LONGER and more prone to typo errors

I simply cannot believe the amount of time and effort to place bets with Internet Unitab
The amount of lost revenue thru the slow process must be costing Unitab $$$$

Mal, you can do this easily now! For Win/Place, you don't click on the numbers of the horse you want, you click on the price (either Tote or Fixed) and it will pre-populate the ticket for you. All you then have to do is put the amount of your bet in, click send and confirm.

For trifecta, it's a bit more tricky, however what I do is go to the race i'm after, say BR1, click the price of the first horse you wish to select, then go to "Win/Place" in your ticket options, and select Trifecta. This will give you boxes alongside the horses for first second and third, much like betfair, sportsbet etc which you can then select. It takes shizenloads less time than the other 'old' tabonline.com.au site did.

My major criticism with it all is that it was never explained to the mug punter like myself. I had to go and work it out myself. I'm still learning, for instance I didn't hit confirm on Saturday and it cost me about 230 bucks.

Yeah
Just found that out after reading your post
Makes it a bit quicker

Still need to find the bet type and meeting on the PLACE A BET menu
The options are listed as follows
WIN AND PLACE
TRIFECTA
FIRST 4
A2
QUIN
EXACTA
TREB
QUAD
DD
ED
MYSTERY BET
BOXED MYSTERY BET
ALL UP

Could that menu in alphabetical order ?

WIN AND PLACE is top of the menu as is the most popular bet type
But the rest could be in alphabetical order ?

Next step is MEET
there are about 24 listed meetings listed TODAY
makes it hard for the punters who cross code and bet different meetings

VIC SUPERTAB using GDP as an example to cross code
HARNESS click
GDP click
Takes about 2-3 seconds
You end up in the race that is next

UNITAB
top bar , must find the meeting code, takes 1 to 5 seconds to find AT
Then it comes up the races [all races listed]
Click into race name to get the next race
process takes between 3-10 seconds

hottie I sympathise with that scenario as its a complete joke

When you placed your bet there were 3 dividends for the place and late scratchings shouldnt change that - isnt it similar to entering a binding contract ??????
-I dont care if the dividend was $1.10 or money back, you shouldnt lose

ps. I didnt have a bet but its UNITAB at its annoying low life best ;) ;)

8 runners = 3 divs
1 late scratching 7 runners = 3 divs
2 late scratchings = 2 divs

It happened to me a few years ago
2 late scrs in a dog race at the boxes
It ran 3rd and I got ziltch as per unitab rulings
All the other TABS paid 3 divs

I sent an email Unitab to say it was unfair
I even rang the top man in QLD to discuss it
They said they wont change the rules
I asked the top man if it happened again could I cancel my bet
He said NO
I said thats also unfair

The end result
I opened accounts with Vic and Nsw TABs as they pay 3 divs

PS
Hottie
Betfair also gave 3 dividends in that race tonight at Port Pirie

I went to the site last Saturday morning after a long hiatus.

I clicked on the runner to get form and it tells me that because I haven't logged on for 30 days I'm not eligible to view form for runners unless I log on. I'm not impressed by it personally, but if you're new to the site you'd be slightly offended/put off I would've thought.

Agreed. The fact you need to login to see form is rubbish.
