what do our forum guys think of the driving capabilities of...
1. Tony Calabria
2.Shaun Adams
3.Michael Smith
4.Jock Dunlop
Which driver is better tactically?, who's better in front to rate a horse?
Which driver would you have on your horse??

SCD, I agree with you 99% of your comments. I think M. Smith can drive well AT times with horses of average ability and think on what T.Calabria has done so far with nice horses, potentially he will be the best of the lot.scaffidi can't drive wrote:1. Tony Calabria - Has been lucky enough to drive good horses. BUT does his form and understands how horses go, which makes him a good driver. In my view the best junior driver left in the state. (Matt Smith probably the 2nd best, but hasn't had the opportunitites that Tony has had)
2.Shaun Adams - Very good judge of pace and rates them very well in front or in the breeze. Very under-rated driver and does a good job with limited drives. Generally doesn't slaughter them - unless they need to be.
3.Michael Smith - I Risk this bloke every time, think that he can only drive them when in front and really struggles when off the fence and when any further back then behind the leader...
4.Jock Dunlop - Very good when the money's on.... Seriously - Jock is the pick of this bunch for me, he has very good hands and horses really go good for him > BUT he drives for a big punting owner / stable and has to do what he's told or else (or he'll end up like W Hill and D Harding > SACKED)
Personally I would put Tony, Shaun or Jock on my horses, but not Michael
