BullShite. good on them i reckon, i want my horse to be given every chance,FFS its hard enough to back a winner let alone to see one lose by a nose and the jock just sitting there cause he can only pull the whip every second stride or some shite. If the top jocks dont like it piss the rule off.IMO.

All other meetings likely to follow suit, could see an afternoon of no gallops.

Ipswich and Hawksbury follow which is great as the JC's I had were not going to win :D

Maybe a few of them may have to learn to ride hands and heels now rather than just sitting on them swinging the whip! lost count of how many young riders have come through not being able to properly push out a horse hands and heels...

I agree with Rick Hore-Lacy and scoob. You dont need to belt the p1ss out of them every stride if you are a good rider.... just take a look at Hong Kong racing.

There would have been plenty of p1ssed off trainers and owners yesterday let me tell you. As much as I like Bossy.....Glen Boss embarressed himself yesterday on TVN..... get on with the job and if you dont like it retire or go do something else.... these are the rules of racing. Let Ty Fagg ride in the city and show you all up.....

Stick to your guns ARB.... the little rodents will soon miss those cheques coming in......
BL are $1-00-2  thats not even $1-01

I feel for owners and trainers,
Can only imagine what kind of costs they would have had preparing their horses for the day,
transporting etc.... some country ones I'm sure from a fair distance,
only to have the jokey's go on strike

I saw the channel 7 news last night,
where they were talking to two jockey's
when a trainer/owner came along and was telling them what he thought!

Hopefully they can get it all resolved soon O:)

Grub the Asian and European riders in Hong Kong are terrible for whip use especially the younger ones, the champions riding their are pure class but a lot of the other jockeys would fit right in at toowoomba on a saturday night.

Similar rules apply in england where the jockey can only use his whip once every 4 strides but at the bigger meetings half the jockeys in the field are getting 1 or 2 day suspensions for excessive whip use.

Can anyone imagine what B Shinn's penalty in the melbourne cup would have been with these rules in place

I wouldnt mind them banning the whip altogether as Call Centre runs freely without the whip, she could become a superstar!

Im not even going to pretend that i know much about this situation but didn't Glenn Boss say they had the backing of the Australian trainers association or whatever it's called. Or is Bossy lying?

If they do that would make Rick Hore Lacy look a bit silly wouldn't it.
