Buddy will get votes but Pav plays in the midfield and was prominant when Freo won a lot of games early.

That group should read Franklin $1.01 the rest write your own ticket.

Agreed. Pavlich will be lucky to poll eight votes. Buddy may poll that in the first half of the season.

Swan does look pretty reasonable odds at the $13 this year. His start was sound and the finish to the year very good. It's only a few weeks before the Arizona trip that he was quieter, but strongly suspect the umpires may do a "correction" of his votes this year. He ticks many of the boxes this year for a Medallist.

Fortunately, the men in white agreed. A deserving winner.

I had said, before he went to Gold Coast, that 2011 would reveal whether Ablett was a good player in a great side, or a great player in his own right. Have really admired the way he has gone about things this year, and a fantastic season rewarded by the umpires - that many votes in a bottom team, winning three matches, is remarkable.

Question lads, I had a bit on Boyd to place through UniTAB at $5, he obviously finished 4th but with Mitchell ineligible I wasn't sure whether this constitutes a place or not?

Hmm not sure mate, if they stipulated that ineligible players weren't listed in the market then I would have thought it might have paid .. Might need one of the guru's to answer this one for you.

Another question.

I had $5 on Rockliff to be Brisbane's highest vote getter. He ended up in a tie with black. Does this mean the bet is null and void, or is it half dividend?

Sportsbet paid out $300k on Judd after Rd 20/21?

Sportsbet advertising budget is in the range of $100,000,000 a year.
0.3% of that was spent on some of the best advertising ever.
Every time they have been on any footy show for the last month it has been mentioned, over and over.

Just like in Sydney's final they returned bets on EVERY losing bet cause Goodes kicked 3 goals.
It's just another stunt designed to attact more money from punters.

At least with paying out on Juddy 5-6 weeks early it gave punters a chance to turn their money over a few more times, and therefore return it back to sportsbet anyway.

OnSong wrote:I tried a bit of research into the relationship Champion Data rankings have on the Brownlow.
What I found was: three of the last four years, the Brownlow winner had an SC average of at least 110. Cooney still was averaging over 100, but it's safe to call his victory an outlier.
I can't find SC rankings for 2006 and 2005 but I would imagine Goodes and Cousins would have been top three at least.
Rarely in the past six years, has the Brownlow Winner came out of the top 5 ranked Supercoach players according to Champion Data.

2010
Winner: Chris Judd - Ranked 4th (118 ave). Goddard, Ablett, Swan, Montagna were top 5.

2009
Winner: Gary Ablett Jr - Ranked 1st (140 ave). Hayes, Montagna, Swan, Goddard were top 5.

2008
Winner: Adam Cooney - Ranked 23rd (106 ave). Ablett, Hodge, Bartel, Harvey, Cox were top 5.

2007
Winner: James Bartel - Ranked 1st (125 ave). Kerr, Ablett, Bowden, Dal Santo were top 5.

2006: Goodes, ave 120.

2005: Cousins, ave 124.

Current averages:

Pendlebury: 130
Cox: 129
Dal Santo 123
Gary Ablett: 123
Swan: 120
Murphy: 119
Judd: 116
Priddis:115
Golstein: 114

Again, the Supercoach system scores.
2011
Winner: Dane Swan - Ranked 4th (122 ave). Ablett, Pendlebury, Cox, Dal Santo rounded out top 5. Boyd was seventh on average.

1 add costs $10k to run during prime events such as the limited adds that are available during a footy game.
Sportsbet run 10-15 adds per game for 4 games a round.
24 rounds x 4 games x 12 adds x 10k = 11.5m just on AFL.

Add in all other sports, adds during the week, adds during sports shows, etc. and that's just their TV adverting....

One I do like is Dal Santo top 5, consistently good all season, even when St. Kilda were no good. I think he might pick a few 1's early on and then some 2/3s once St Kilda started to win games.

Very good bet on Dal Santo. Has been on fire in many of their wins. What price was top 5?

i dont think he polls until rd 10

Agree May. Save your money
