Good box draw, tougher race than he'd be used to. Not sure if Bordain can go the extra distance, the 3/5/6 will be right up there with AR.

From Box 8 he has every chance. Being an interstate dog is also a bonus isn't it?

Cant beat top grade at Angle Park!
HMMM has beat every dog he has raced against at Angle Park over the 731m. Only top grade dog he hasnt beat is RISK IT but he has also never raced against it.

Was beat 11 lengths by OTHERS QUOTED and KULU SPIRIT in his first ever 731m race.

Has beaten Ling Wah, Token Ned, Uncle Remus etc. So not sure who the top grade dogs you are referring to Dutchy. Was only beaten 2 lengths when injured when rammed into running rail in his 2nd last 731m race

No use to keep running against same opposition every week even IF he can beat them when he can be tested against better quality of dogs.

He is still learning what the 700m races are all about as he has only ever had 6 starts over the distance. The more experience he gets the better off he will be.

In saying all of that i also know he is up against some very good dogs BUT thats why we nominated him to test him against the better dogs. He will start 20/1 and over im sure.

Bordain has run a few over the 700 at bendigo for a 3rd and a 5th.
its a good track for dogs that are not true 700mt plus runners.

Awesome has a great chance , only maybe a look at the track might help.
third turn can be tricky for beginners.
Good luck Geoff.

12th January in his 2nd ever 731m race he won an OPEN grade at Angle Park.

He has had 6 starts over 731m.
1st start were heats of a group 3 event.
then next (4) 731m starts were in open grade.
Last start was a grade 4/5.

We are not going to Bendigo thinking we are going to win we are going for the experience factor. Must be realistic but also hope for some luck at the same time

Well what can i say about Bendigo and the lack of respect they have. Their carelessness, their lack of SAFE KENNELING for dogs that arrive early and need to be kenneled during the race meeting.

We asked to place Awesome Ryles in their trial kennels and couldnt as we were told they are already closed and CAN NOT be re-opened. So we were told to place him in their old kennel block kennels during the meeting where he would be safe. WELL to our astonishment after race 3 Saturday an announcement over the loud speaker stated that a dog was running loose in the car park area and when they read out the dogs ear brands i knew straight away it was my dog. By the time i went over to the car park to find him someone already had caught him and placed him in the TRIAL KENNELS that we were told couldnt be re-opened. SO once i had checked on him i went over to inspect the kennels i had him in thinking i had stuffed up and not locked the kennels properly. WELL what i surprise we got when we entered the kennel block and noticed the kennel had collapsed. YES thats correct the kennel had COLLAPSED allowing him to get out.

Upon a very closer inspection of the kennels when we decided we needed to take photographs of exactly what happened the kennels were not bolted in to the ground at all and they were not even bolted into the wall even though it looked as though they were as all the parts were there to do it BUT in their wisdom they just had them resting up against the wall.

This was an accident waiting to happen as when i explained what had happened to the race club they stated (OH YEAH they arent bolted in anymore).

No one knows how long my dog had be loose running around the car park and surrounding area. He was extremely dehydrated and stressed out. We tried to get him to drink and eat without success as he was still shaking with stress/shock. So we decided to get him away from the track and bring him home. We eventually got him to drink once he had settled down a few hours after we left.

There was no way with the best interest of the dog at heart that we could make him race today. I asked for him to be vet checked in between races before we left the track but they refused stating we cant allow a dog with any illness near the racing kennels where the vet is located. They wouldnt even get the vet to check him away from the kennels, they left it up to me to bring him back to adelaide and have him ckeched. The only illness he has was being dehydrated and in stress/shock.

Sorry to ramble on BUT i am totally disgusted with the way the BENDIGO track is run and the lack of care and respect shown to both myself as a trainer/owner and also lack of care shown to our dog who was only in this condition DUE to the lack of SAFE KENNELING facilities at the track.

I will be writing to the GRV and GRA with my concerns also.

Geoff!

my sympathy goes out to you mate.
very stressing.
just goes to show the respect SA gets when you cross borders.

its still a boys club at most tracks.
and they wonder why you get a bad taste in the mouth.

Has had approx 5 starts at Cannington. First 4 races finished last or 2nd last.

Was sold to WA owners after being injured in a trial. New owners took the risk and offered half of original agreed price. Must say a huge risk to take but in the hands of a very good trainer in WA. Hopefully trainer Michelle Beamish is slowly getting him back to his best.
