How long have the sulky-less trots races been held at Melton?

Not only does it look ridiculous, it also looks pretty volatile to galloping. Was not a fan.

Is that the Monte?? I saw that on the form guide..... They have them at Globe Derby on the odd occasion as well..... I thought it was quite funny to watch..... Wouldn't be betting on it, but something different from the same thing race after race...

It would be nice if Trotters races were not put in legs of Quaddies and Trebles
There is room for these races in race 1 , race 2 or race 8 [IF 8 races are on the programme]

Why ?

Becoz no punter Ive ever known has that inate ability to predict which trotters will gallop or not with any consistent accuracy


I used to keep records of which ones galloped from what barriers , what tracks etc
In the end it was too much bookwork and too much effort to keep records for little and no rewards
Despite my thorough and meticulous records I still had not mastered the art of ' to gallop or not to gallop'
I gave up after keeping ledgers for several months

Dont mind betting on Trotters races on a sMALl scale for win or place bets
But NO MORE in Multiples

Quite simply if there are any future Trotters races in the Quaddies/Trebles I wont invest into those pools

There is nothing more infuriating at the trots than seeing a horse gallop out of contention

Does having a sulky on the back make any difference Mal? I thought trotters would trot the same as harness racers?

My only concern is the amount of ground lost by Trotters thru galloping at the start or during races


TROTTERS RACES TODAY
Today there were 3 Trotters races [winners $26.40 , $4-90, $32.50 ]
By virtue, multi legs had to be included today in Trotters races
But when there is 1 Trotters race on a given meeting , it should be placed on non multiple races

I have had a habit of missing one leg of quaddies.... the trotters race...
I have learnt to save on the field always now in these races.

Bit hard to do that this Saturday with 4 races all trotters - so I won't be betting on the quaddie this week

Might have something e/way on daretobedifferent in the ridden trotters based on it's result at Melton a few runs back.

I see that tomorrow night Tattsbet have NOT listened to Mal and have put a $10,000 JACKPOT on the treble, races 4, 5 & 6 which are ALL TROTTING races.

Should be good value. Cant seeing the pool being that big which is better for those that do invest on it.

Didnt have a bet
Went to see CD V GL
After the game went to GDP, to see the Monty live for something different


Must commend the co-ordination between racing clubs and footy clubs today
The AC V GE was brought forward for a 12-45 early start today giving people the opportunity to see Black Cavair
The game at Elizabeth Oval between CD V GL was an early 6-30 start giving people the chance to get to GDP to see the Monty

Try as often as possible to place Trotters races in race 7 to stuff up the other TABs ?

Whenever possible and often enough is this a deliberate ploy in this state to hoodwinkle the other TABs ?

Its an alledged ploy which is infuriating a swag of punters that I know of

Why do I prefer the Interstate Quaddies ?
Because I can scoop the Quaddies pools Interstate with a 50c unit if Im the only winner
I only get half the pool on Unitab

For example for a 50c unit and the only successful winner =
$3000 vic + nsw = $3,000 return for a 50c unit
$3000 unitab = $1,500 return for a 50c unit

So on Mondays why would Unitab go head to head on the race 4567 Quaddie with the superior Tabs ?

Ironically I backed 1 winner 4 the day
Buster Maori , which was 1 of the trotters races !
And missed the winner of race 5 A Pacers race , so missed the Treble and the Quaddies

I have always thought of you as a intelligent observer(and it goes without saying a PUNTING LEGEND) but i fear the early onset of alzheimers ! To suggest for even a second that TattsBet are capable of hoodwinking or orchestrating planned ploys for the betterment of SA Harness Racing flies in the face of all available evidence.The only indication that the placement of trotters races is a strategic ploy to increase pools on Tatts at the detriment of the interstate totes is that it ISNT WORKING.

1st leg -

1 looks main pick, should boot up and lead
2,8 might get a cheap run along pegs
3,4,10,11 are others to consider.

2nd leg

1,6,10,11 main picks
8 should get a nice run along the pegs

3rd leg

1,3,6,7,9 and the 10 could be the knockout runner

4th leg

looks a race between 1,7 and throw in 2,5,8 , as the 2,8 may get soft runs.

I do all the form and work my multitude of combinations to invest but when it comes to putting them on, well, internet betting is DOWN, Phone betting is DOWN but was advised that Pubtab terminals are still working. WTF ?

Pool only gets to $27964 from a start of $15000 which should mean amazing VALUE.
