4 winners from 6 bets however they were all short, the best being the seymour winner at $3.00, two at odds on and the other at 12/10.

win only bets showed a return of $8.50 for 6 $1 bets a POT of just over 40% for the day

place only bets had a loss of 20c whilst the e/w bets had a return of $14.30 for a $12 outlay for a POT just under 20%

there has been a fly put in the ointment with a late tip for bath (uk) R3 no7 the name is don at $12 fixed at centrebet, could turn a reasonable day into a very good one if it gets up

I don't rate these services..... I think the only way to make money consistently is laying on Betfair..... And backing the odd horse where you can get information others can't.

Trying to pick winners everyday is nigh on impossible, and just not PRACTICAL!~ ;)

id also keep separate records for aus and uk racing and see where the strike rate is more profitable. And with the selections id look at anchoring them with the field for 1st and 2nd in exactas.

well yesterdays 4 selections produced one second which returned a mighty $1.30

here are todays offerings

BALLINA RACE SIX: 7 the eachway selection

Tipster: MARTIN DOWLING

Given the prospect of a Slow-7 track rating, a wide gate may be more of a help than a hindrance for (7) Perfect Timing 11/2 in race 6, a BM60 hdcp 1410m at Ballina on Tuesday.

The 5YO, trained on the track, was luckless last start when 5th/14 Lismore 1516m in a BM60 on Sep 22. He had trouble securing clear running from the 400m and his apprentice jockey was simply unable to really test him, especially over the final 50m or so. He finished 2.7 lens from the winner. Perfect Timing had won his previous start on Sep 12, scoring easily at Coffs Hbr 1409m in BM50 class. Today's rain-affected conditions will not worry him - he's a winner on heavy and dead.

KYNETON RACE ONE: 9 the eachway selection

Tipster: BRIAN BLACKWELL

Talk about being held up for a run! The John Symons-Sheila Laxon trained (9) Just De One 10/1 made that an art form last start, so I am keen to have a crack at her in race 1, a Mdn Plate 1887m at Kyneton.

The 5YO Denon mare was buried well back on the inner to the 800m in a Mdn 1600m at Wangaratta on Oct 3 and approaching the 500m she was full of running but with nowhere to go - 'the wall' was parked in front of her and there was no gap. Rebecca Williams had to sit there twiddling her thumbs until inside the 100m when daylight at last appeared. Just De One started to get going and went to the line strongly for 4th/14, btn 1.9 lens. She goes over more ground today and this should be fine. The Wangaratta run was her first for 2 months, so she comes in today with the benefit of that hitout. Williams is aboard again and claims 2kgs.

load up!!

interesting result last night with regal gold winning, i am betting at centrebet atm and when placing the bet i had 2 options, fixed @$6 or SP+ i took the latter and when checking the tattsbet results this morning i was spewing when i saw it paid $3.60 and supertab only $2.70, went to centrebet and **** me its paid $9.50!!! so happy with that.

the win only bets are back in the black thanks to that result, place and e/w both showing losses atm.

so onto todays selections:

GEELONG RACE THREE: 3 the eachway selection

Tipster: BRIAN BLACKWELL

Promising 4YO (3) The Chevron 9/2 should make a successful return to racing in race 3, an RB68 hdcp 1400m at Geelong on Wednesday.

The Savabeel gelding turned in a bold and unclucky run to finish 7th/16 in the Grp 3 Grand Prix at Doomben 2200m on Mayt 28. He came from 15th on the turn to finish only 3 lens behind the useful Turnitup. He then failed in the Brisbane Cup 2400m on June 11 but I suggest we ignore that defeat. Go back four starts and he won a Cl 1 at Ballarat 1500m first-up off a spell and then ran 5th/18 Flemington 2000m behind Noble Park. John Sadler will have The Chevron cherry ripe, I'm sure, and it will be good to see Jake Noonan back in action after his long injury-enforced break from riding.

GEELONG RACE SEVEN: 1 the eachway selection

The French stayer (1) Dunaden 9/2 has been one of my main Melbourne Cup picks since early September so I am keen to have a crack at him in race 7, the Geelong Cup 2400m (Grp 3) at Geelong.

I've seen a number of video replays of this 6YO's performances in France and they are impressive - especially his efforts over 3000m to 3200m. Back on April 30, he beat Americain over 3082m at Longchamp. It was a Grp 3 race and he carried 57.5kgs. He followed that with a nose 2nd/6 over 3100m at the same track in a Grp 2 wfa race. He's had 6 tries at 2400m for 2 wins, three 2nds and a 3rd. There's a real touch of class about this bloke. He's currently #14 on the order of entry for the Melbourne Cup in which he's handicapped on 54kgs.

GEELONG RACE EIGHT: 4 the eachway selection

Tipster: BRIAN BLACKWELL

Although btn almost 10 lengths last start, locally trained (4) Mythical Spirit 12/1 is good enough to bounce back in race 8, the Black Pearl (Mares) 1200m hdcp at Geelong on Wednesday.

John Smerdon's 6YO Bel Esprit mare was slowly away from a wide gate and was never able to stay in touch with the hot pace when she finished 11th/14 to Sister Madly in the Grp 3 How Now at Caulfield on Sep 17. The run was in contrast to her usual pattern of showing slick early speed to lead or race right up on the pace - and this is what I expect from her in today's race. She's drawn well in gate #4 and everything suits - down in class from a strong Grp 3, 5 wins from 9 starts at the trip, winner at the track, trained at the track, and Steven King aboard. The factors line up well.

load up ;)
