BET OF THE WEEK: Take a two leg multi with the Western Bulldogs winning tonight against Adelaide into Melbourne knocking off Fremantle on Sunday for a $2.20 return.

VALUE BET: Young star Rory Mcilroy looks tremendous value at $19 to win Golf’s US Open.

THE KNOCK: How is Essendon $1.60 to beat North Melbourne? Essendon was shocking for three quarters against Fremantle and has now lost three straight. Back North at $2.25.

HEAVENLY SAINTS
Luxbet punters are backing St Kilda to continue their recent good form by heavily backing Ross Lyon’s men at the line of +21.5 against Geelong in their match at the MCG tomorrow night.
“The last time the Cats covered that spread against the Saints was the 2008 Qualifying Final.” Luxbet’s Paul Vincent said.
Geelong is $1.31 in head to head betting with St Kilda $3.50 outsiders.

CLASH OF CODES

The Melbourne Rebels are $6 to attract a larger crowd for their home clash with the Western Force tonight than the AFL match between the Western Bulldogs and Adelaide at Etihad Stadium.
“We think the Rebels will need a few more wins before they can start challenging AFL Crowds,” Sportsbet.com.au’s Haydn Lane said.
Sportsbet.com.au is also offering an over and under crowd line for the two games with the Bulldogs-Adelaide game set at 22,500 and the Rebels-Force game 17,500.

STAR WITNESS

Aussie punters were left licking their wounds after heavily backing Star Witness to win the King Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot on Tuesday night.
“On Betfair Star Witness was matched at $9.70 pre race and started $7.50 with huge amounts of money coming from Aussie punters,” Betfair’s Jake Norton said.
Eventual winner Prohibit was matched at the massive mid-race odds of $250 when buried away back in the field.

PICK 8

Plenty of footy fans across the country were proudly declaring Tuesday morning that they snagged eight winners on the weekend, and while it was a user friendly round the footytab pick eight returned a generous $8.60 with all favourites saluting.
This week’s footy Quad will operate on Essendon vs North Melbourne/ Brisbane vs Richmond/ St Kilda vs Geelong and Carlton vs Sydney.

VIVA LA RAFA
One TAB Sportsbet customer has Rafael Nadal winning Wimbledon as the final leg of two monster multi bets.
Both multi bets have nine legs and will return a combined total of $298,865 after investing just $983.
The legs consisted of various sports: tennis, cricket, UEFA Champions League, NBL and Rugby Union.
The bets were $498 at $300 for a potential $149,400 collect and $485 at $309 for a $149,865 return.

MIGHTY NOVAK
TAB Sportsbet punters have launched a betting plunge on Noval Djokovic adding the 2011 Wimbledon crown to his Australian Open title.
“Djokovic opened on the third line at $5.50 but has easily been the best backed player with punters backing him into $2.75 favourite before easing slightly to his current price of $4.50,” TAB Sportsbet’s Matthew Jenkins said.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal share favouritism at $3 with British hope Andy Murray $7.

GOLDEN TIME FOR PUNTERS
Australians dominate the betting with TAB Sportsbet for the Group 1 Golden Jubilee sprint at Royal Ascot which will be run at 12.45am Sunday.
“Star Witness is $4.50 favourite following his narrow defeat in the King Stand Stakes while Peter Moody trained Hinchinbook is third favourite at $7.50,” Gary Davies said.

BACK IN BLACK
ACDC’s iconic “Back In Black” has been installed as the $3.50 favourite with Sportingbet Australia to be number one in Triple J’s Hottest 100 Australian Albums list.
Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said albums by Australian rock legends such as ACDC, Powderfinger, INXS, Icehouse and Midnight Oil dominated the betting with the notable exception of The Avalanches, “Since I Left You” album which is joint second favourite at $4.
“’Back In Black’ is one of the most well known albums around the world, not just in Australia, so it had to be favourite in this market,” Sullivan said.
“Powderfinger’s “Internationalist” is also at $4 ahead of Crowded House’s “Woodface” at $6.

BLUE EYED BOYS
Nick Quinn

Punters have fallen in love with Carlton.
Just like Geelong during their Premiership years and Collingwood last year, the Navy Blues have been singled out to win everything.
“There has been an avalanche on them in the head-to-head betting at $1.25 against Sydney on Sunday. And on the $2.25 in the margin betting requiring the Blues winning by less than 40 points has been one of the most popular bet types for the weekend,” TAB Sportsbet’s Gary Davies said.
In a TAB Sportsbet first, Carlton has the two favourites for the Brownlow medal with Chris Judd $3.50 ahead of Marc Murphy at $7.
“During the week one punter plonked $10,000 on Judd winning the Brownlow at $3.75 seeing his price cut to $3.50,” Davies said.
Essendon skipper Jobe Watson has drifted from $8 to $9 with him not expected to poll a vote in a month.
Carlton has firmed from $9 into $7.50 in the past fortnight for the Premiership after they opened $17, one canny TAB Sportsbet investing $9000 on at that price for a potential $153,000 collect.
While punters throw money on Carlton, the same can’t be said for tonight’s lacklustre contest between the Western Bulldogs and Adelaide with Davies expecting it to be one of the quietest Friday night contests in years.
“We are currently holding enough to buy a round of drinks with and with two teams in such poor form there is very little interest from punters,” Davies said.
The Bulldogs remain $1.22 favourites with Adelaide $4.
Fremantle has been the best backed side for the weekend to defeat Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday.
“For every $100 placed on Melbourne at $1.80 we have taken $2000 on Fremantle at $1.95 so there is a huge discrepancy, despite Fremantle’s shocking record at the MCG punters are clearly disgusted with Melbourne after last week,” Davies said.
Other big bets for the weekend with TAB Sportsbet include $18,000 on Geelong at $1.22 in head to head betting with St Kilda and $25,000 on Port Adelaide at the line of +50.5 against West Coast on Sunday.
One Tab Sportsbet punter will be hoping Hawthorn has little trouble defeating the Gold Coast after investing $12,000 on the Hawks at the probative odds of $1.01.
A Hawks win will see him win $120.

HAPPY CHAPPY

Footy fans can snap up $8 on Geelong star Paul Chapman kicking three goals or more in tomorrow night’s St Kilda v Geelong clash.
The offer will be available from 4pm at your local TAB, tab.com.au or 133 390.

SCOTT TO BE A CHANCE

Adam Scott has been the big firmer heading into the US Open (Starting overnight) with punters backing him from $31 into $19 with TAB Sportsbet.
Lee Westwood started the tournament a $12 favourite with Jason Day the next shortest priced Australian at $31.

WB-Adel
Most Disposals

Matthew Boyd $2.20
Scott Thompson $4.5
Daniel Cross $7
Adam Cooney $8
Ryan Griffen $10
Bernie Vince $10
Nathan Van Berlo $12
Graham Johncock $16
ODDS: TAB Sportsbet

Following his 39 possession game against St Kilda last Friday night Matthew Boyd has been installed a $2.20 favourite to rack up the most touches in tonight’s match with Adelaide.

“Punters are more than happy to take the $2.20 about Boyd, both straight out and in multi bets. If he plays anything like he did last week he looks very hard to beat.” TAB Sportsbet’s Gary Davies said.

Chappy to kick 3 or more at $8.00 looks pretty good. He goes alright against the Saints.

OnSong, they were up around 4:45 when I checked, you just had to go to the news section. There wasn't a link on the main page till after 5 though.

F**k it!! Lol

So many close games this week, it might be worth sitting this round out!! Haha!

Game 1: Western Bulldogs v Adelaide

The Crows are such a rabble. So are the Bullies. Analysing the teams, Bulldogs midfield of Hudson (ruck), Cooney, Boyd and Griffin against Jacobs (ruck), Dangerfield, Douglas, Thompson.
From memory, Griffen kills us. The way our midfield has gone lately, the Dogs should win by 40+.
The Crows forward line just has one dimension: K Tippett. He can’t do it by himself.
Feeling the Crows to push the Dogs for a while. All of about 10 minutes.

Best bets: Western Bulldogs 40 to 59 @ $4.75. FAIL but not far off.
Game 2: Hawthorn v Gold Coast

Good chance Buddy will unleash a big bag of goals this weekend. You get SFA for the Hawks win and I can’t find much value in this market.

Best bets: Haw/Haw/Haw/Haw @ $1.16 seems like a sure thing for a multi leg.WIN

Game 3: Essendon v North Melbourne

I hate the Bombers after last week and the Roos have put together two in a row and playing well. Speaking of well, Daniel Wells is in rare form. The Dons rate their run but the confidence in a young Kangaroo group is palpable at the moment. Should be close but I’m all for the Roos to win. They average more scoring shots, although conversion rates have been down. Hope they don’t kick themselves out of it.

Best bets: Kangaroos $2.23, WIN Draw $51

Game 4: Brisbane Lions v Richmond

Their first game resulted in a five goal win to the Tigers. The Tigs were flattered by the scoreline last week and by jingo Andrew Browne doesn’t blow wind up Luenberger’s bunger. Honestly, with Brown back, I don’t think there’s much difference between these two and I will roll with the Lions, Drummond in replaces Adcock.

Best bets: Brisbane $2.20. FAIL Not even close

Game 5: Geelong v St Kilda

Geelong love close games. These two teams tend to play out tight, low scoring affairs so be wary going for the line either way. Selwood out is massive, Monty in is gold. I’m not certain, but the weather Saturday night at the G shouldn’t be great either so watch for the low-score betting. Steve Johnson to kick a bag too, should cover him as first goal kicker in all quarters with a small bet.

Best bets: St Kilda +21.5. FAIL Again, close but no cigar

Game 6: Melbourne v Fremantle

Again, ANOTHER close game. Statistically, these two match up well and Freo’s effort against the Hawks recently and recent form against Essendon shows they’re not on the slide. Can the Dees bounce back from a hideous hiding? I say no.

Best bets: Fremantle $2.10. Draw $51. FAIL

Game 7: Carlton v Sydney

The odds suggest Carlton are near sure things but I see if differently for some reason. These two match up well and I would take the forward line of Goodes, O’Keefe, McGlynn, Kennedy, Jack and the talented youngster Sam Reid ahead of the Blues forward line of Simpson, Betts, Garlett, Walker with Hampson and Henderson down the spine. Promises to be a ripper match, my match of the round. Sydney smashed the Blues at Etihad last year.

Best bets: Sydney +22.5 @ $1.90. FAIL Gotta start rating the Blues a little more highly

Game 8: West Coast v Port Adelaide

Betting agencies are giving Port a 48-point head start. Fresh off the bye, all the pointers suggest a big win for WCE. I can’t shake a feeling Port will play well this weekend. Spiritual leader Cassisi is back. Justin Westhoff is playing his best year of footy. It was only last season a crap Power team went and knocked off a crap West Coast in Perth. Defensively they shape up ok. I think the Power can cover that line. I think they can also win. But you’d be brave to put your hard earned on it.

Best bets: Port +48.5 @ 1.90. WIN

I feel a little crook after writing that.

AFL specials: Gee whiz, Hawks at $2 for highest scoring team just looks like a gimme. FAIL
Sorry about the limited amount of bets. Internet connection a bit dicky.

Ok, so what have we learned? Geelong are veyr good at covering their lines. Carlton are better than I think. To next week!
