So let me get this straight..................We should sell Globe Derby move to New Zealand race 9 months per year with Mark Webster as president. God help us all !!!!

We have the land! If the industry had to have 2-3 months off a year you could have staff work in a duel roll situation ie work in the tavern then when we run a meeting simply go across to GDP.You would also have a casual employment base.When you are not racing for thoes few months you would still have a great income stream from your business.You would have main road frontage.You could incorporate a motel situation in your planing that would also increase your earning potential.You could also plan for permanent stableing and a new work track so new people could enter the industry with out the expence of buying a property at Globe Derby or near by.I have seen this work well on the Gold Coast.........I am simply saying work with what you have got,turn it into some thing, and stop complaining.......if you sit back, nothing will happen, you have to make it happen....

Sorry overloaded but you are wrong!You wont fill the place every Saturday night. The reason everyone went to the showgrounds with big crowds back then was the pubs closed at 6pm and that was the only place you could get a drink.We didnt have night footy back then,we didnt have a casino back then,we didnt have foxtel back then,i could keep going but this is 2008, we are in trouble,and it is quiet simple,we need to generate real money,and quickly!Forget about sponsorship money,we need to generate a full on income stream from our asset and that is Globe Derby Park.

And who says Globe Derby is under any obligation to substitute prize money ???? your assuming Globe Derby will contribute towards prize money but the fact is they dont have to give a red cent towards prize money and what makes you think they will ??? Theres alot of talk about selling off Globe Derby doing this and that with Globe Derby BUT GLOBE DERBY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PRIZE MONEY !!!!! we all know they may have to but i can assure you it wont be much, if Globe Derby made a million dollar profit this year how much do you honestly think they would put into prize money ??? im guessing it wouldnt be enough to make a scrap of difference. Victor Harbour is sitting on a million bucks and what do they give in the way of prize money STUFF ALL Gawler now sitting on 3.8 million how much are they gonna give STUFF ALL Anyone who thinks Globe Derby is gonna throw all of its profits into prize money is living in a dream world. If Globe Derby developes its land and ends up with a few million in the bank they will do the same thing Gawler is gonna do FLUSH IT DOWN THE TOILET.

Yes my mail but will YOU...ME...TOM...DICK....HARRY and MARY all agree on the same thing.....probably not so where does that leave us ????? everything in this bloody industry comes down to a vote and if your in business my mail you know as well as i do that there is no room in any business for a democracy. Tell me my mail if your business was run based on a vote from your staff, customers and next door neighbours where would you be now?????

This is the core problem with this industry and its inability to make the correct business decisions, as ive said in the past this entire industry from top to bottom is structured to fail. Harness Racing SA needs to grow some balls find a kick ass CEO that can turn this industry upside down and start from scratch. One man needs to take charge of all clubs and their assets, mate you give a suitably qualified CEO on a performance based salary control of our industry and you will soon see it make big heaps of money and if that means he makes big heaps well good luck to him. How do you think banks make so much money, very smart CEOs on massive performance based salaries.

This all sounds good of course but guess what, everyone will have to vote on it.

Yes Iron Man you are correct in what you are saying. If i remember rightly Peter Valandes did exactly that with Harness Racing in NSW then the gallops pinched him!So if it is going to come to this what are we waiting for!!!!!!
