An open race here. #3,4 have the pace and are drawn where they want to be. But the problem for them is that sometimes CHILE RUM #9 begins well and moves to the rails sharply. #8 UNO HILLBILLY also has pace, but that is a long way to cross from BOX 8 for this runner after rails run ls. Bendigo formline never holds up that strong here, so am willing to leave #7 down the back, but would be an exotic player.

JOE will come for #1 - but this last 50m is likely to be a killer and may want to get off the track. Most miss the start debut BOX 1 here. Happy to see JOE smash this runner.

The most open race that I have seen in a long time here at HVL.

#2 can begin from the rails and does like to sweep to the middle of the track and then back towards the rails. If has room and doesn't have runners pressuring on outside can run a much better race.

#7 DENISE MAGIC wants the rails and has the best outright pace early you would think against this field. But with #3,4 both moving to the middle and being much bigger dogs, this could prove problems for the bitch Denise Magic. But trainer does go well here.

#1 RUBIK BLUSH will benefit a lot from the runners moving to the middle and does run home strong. But outright ability here is lacking a little bit. Definitely one to sneak a place. And must watch early betting on this one. Also on Mexico Joe.

This could be a great 'mail' race in betting.

#1 LEAD SINGER has improved a lot and is near best form one would think. But has to avoid the railer #2 NEWFIRE CHARGED who has ability to ping and cross in front. LEAD SINGER has an excellent record this draw but the 350m is still the query if at full fitness again.

#2 NEWFIRE CHARGED pings and wants the fence. Does best racing this way. Was a bit soft l.s but was a tough race to come back into.

#3 STAGGER class act here and is great to have drawn outside pace and inside of a straight runner. STRONG

#4 MISS SPENCE has surprised me before in ability. First splits are fairly impressive, but has had a habit of stopping fast.

#5 GIN LEES GEM - kennel is in good form right now and has huge ability in the straight. Nearly made cup final..... gets plenty of room early with pace from 4,6. MUST avoid the pinball in the race Mario Cheif though.

#6 GOLD BREAK improved L/S after stopping real quick in the 300m race. Still probably a bit behind these and would need clear racing room on the rails.

#7 MARIO CHEIF strong but is normally a pinball at the start here. Although l/s here seemed to have improved antics.

#8 ITS MANIC great pace at the start of the race and will appreciate the movements from the inside boxes to get a great cart to the middle of the track. Is in good form but not as strong in the concluding stages as #3,5. Needs a little bit of luck.

A race in 2 here. Premier Magpie will be fitter for the run after last week and having to overcome some calf issues.

Early Return is the HVL master and #7 Northern Trouble will be aided by #6 who crashes to the fence.

#6 BRING IT HOME is the key to this race, does like to race wide and other runners have trouble crossing. perhaps this will undo DIRTY MARY's race but not for the pink FIERY ANN who likes staying out there.

The CRAN form of #1 is great formline, BOX 1 is a query, but gets room. #3 will come to rails, #4 will go out and #5 will go straight but step left initailly. The room #1,8 get is great.

Have to get a feel on #3 in betting as trainer has been away and perhaps not in best condition just yet.

perhaps a great race to find some value in the exotics. JOE won't see this race being so open. #4 and #5 both present huge value in this race for mine. #7 is more than capable here and 300m I feel will be ok, but is drawn inside out. The early pace of #2 and outside of RUTHLESS STAGGER is a worry.

Quaddie is fairly interesting. Getting the first leg with some value will be key as many legs after that will be taken quite skinny.
2,3,4,5,6,7 / 3 / 4 / 2

Those last 3 is what I can see many JOE's standing out.

A wide quaddie would look like

There are a lot of open races today. 5/12 races bottom rating is below $30. Perhaps the WIN S/R won't be as high today.

An expecting UNDERS on top rating in R2 / 3 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 11

So in my opinion, there will be plenty of value about today. Especially for the exotic punter.

VALUE in Race #6 / #8 < Even though lowly ranked, JOE will hammer hard on #7.

A JOE race here. The scratching of #7 may open up the betting a little bit though.

I expect #3 . #9 to be the value here while watching the early markets of #4,8.

I have #2 on top because of drawn closer to the rails where improves a fair amount and L/S was ok for these. And that is why JOE will react.

I am not totally convinced about #6 FRIMPONG - due to the 2 best times run here are DRAGGED IN runs behind fast times..... Sure 5/5 has finished inside TOP 4. But those times are not a true indication of this runners ability. JOE reacts to that also. Could even be the favourite here at $2.80 roughly?

There is only one runner with pace in this race #7 OUR ISABELL. Should lead this field, but also weakens. Should give the wider runners in #6,8 enough room to clear T1 with ease. Then they start to wind up out-wide mid-race.

#4 is the value runner for mine. May sneak onto the rails early and avoid some trouble. Is steady performer.

JOE should cover 6,7,8 in betting.

Watch for early market on #5 - is good indication of what this runner is capable of today.

Pace from #1 and consistency is solid. Has raced above this grade and won this grade l/s from harder box and showed good pace.

#7 has great record here and can ping the lids here too. Drawn outside a railer will give room to T1. May want to cut at T1 - so if cannot find room may be wide off the bend and could weaken. But pinging is the key. I think JOE will be off this runner too, so have it to be value.

#4 WHICH ARANDT has been on the improve recently and can continue that here. Squeeze box doesn't help, but you have #3 APACHE GALO who steps left and the hit/miss of #5 onoutside. Just has to make sure can hold out #6 to T1 to get a bit of room.

An open race for mine as many runners can be HIT/MISS from this draw.

#6 obviously has the pace to lead this field comfortable. But can drift off the bend and weaken a little bit. Should be well clear though by the time they reach the home bend. Query is some are strong from behind.

#8 PADDYS LANE is suited to TIER 3 company and finally gets a good draw. On the outside, outside the pace and will be motoring home late.

#5 OUR DANNY BOY is another who is strong in the finishing stages, just needs a bit of room early.
