Drunken Sailor had a chequered Australian campaign last year, but won over 2400m two starts over the English Harris Tweed (not the NZ horse of the same name) at Goodwood, albeit in very slow time. Will have to be snagged back from the barrier, but if saved for one last dash, could be one to watch. Problem is, if it is a leader biased track like last week, that could harm his chances.
Mighty High's formline looks very strong for this, with a win and a third over 2400m in his last four starts in Hong Kong in good time. Retains Darren Beadman, who has ridden him at the last four starts, and looks a very solid chance.
Green Moon's win in the Newcastle Cup was very good, given he raced three and four wide for much of the 2300m journey, so should have no trouble at 2400m. Worth noting, though, that at his only run over the distance six starts back in England, was well beaten.
