Thats funny....

Have you ever seen the betting site www.sportsalive.com??

It allows spread betting. Say for a JC, Brown may've been down to get say 70-80 points today (25win, 10 second 5 third) - you can use their spread betting. Say if you put $10 on the above, for every point he gets below 70 you win $10.... So as you can see today you would clean up. But of course if you went over their spread, you owe them $10 for every point above 80....

Yeah the JC's only show up for about 20 mins before the start of the races on that site... And you have to apply to be able to do the spread betting... I haven't bothered as the application was 4 pages long....

Its not only happening in SA......

Punter no-show at jockeys challenge inquiry

A Sydney-based punter has again failed to attend an inquiry into matters associated with betting on the Taree jockeys challenge on January 28, which has already seen jockey Danny Peisley suspended for five months.

The punter failed to appear at the initial inquiry held on April 27 and was directed by stewards to attend a further inquiry held on Friday.

The punter again didn’t show up and also ignored a directive by the stewards to provide mobile phone records for the period between January 27 and 28.
As a consequence the stewards will now forward a recommendation to the Racing NSW Board for further action.

Peisley copped a five month suspension for attempting place bets on fellow jockey Peter Graham in the jockeys challenge at Taree the morning of the race meeting on January 28 and prior to officially advising stewards of his inability to fulfil his rides.

Graham subsequently picked up two rides that Peisley was booked for.

what about this....

Evans suggested Australian stewards should copy the northern hemisphere rules.

"Jockeys' Challenges are big in the northern hemisphere," he said. "What I have been told is if a rider is unable to fulfil his scheduled rides, that rider is taken out of the market and bets are refunded.

"The market changes throughout the day and can be chaotic due to late changes. It is a susceptible market on a day that has many markets and sometimes hawk-eyed punters can spot something horribly over the odds."

AG?
