The call in the last from McAullay was fantastic! It was spine tingling, just like Chataqua's run called by Flindell in Sydney.

He’s an outstanding race caller, McCauley & Matt Hill are two of the best I’ve heard.

Edit just watched the replay, looked like it tried to jump something, then badly held up

Jockey claims he jumped really well then got spooked, lost 3-4 lengths then when got a run was hitting the line hard just had no where to go.

Trainer wasn’t overly concerned and was happy with the run.

Also cut his leg when in loading the barriers, they reckon had the vet seen it they would’ve scratched him at the barrier.

Disappointed, absolutely disheartened, definitely not.

1) Hill
2) Daylight
3) McAullay
4) Flindell

In SA, actually rate Tim Edwards in front of Davis.
In Qld, Josh Fleming

Newish bloke calling Horsham yesterday, Dayne Barry, I thought he was terrific. SA should poach him.
Right in front of me. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

He is already good and looks to have a bright future. I would be offering him something. He is from Swan Hill so a move to SA could just be the making of him. As an aside, his interest in racing came from hanging around his uncle's stables who had the odd handy runner. Darren Weir...

Brett Davis is not up to it. Tim Edwards is a far better caller. Mark Matthews is better than Davis as well.

In terms of the other callers, I love the calling by Rick McIntosh for the passion that he shows especially in the jumps and such features as The Jericho. Terry Baily a good caller as well.

Lauding has been accepted to run at Caulfield on Boxing Day in the 4th event on the card, a BM70 Handicap over 1600m. Lauding draws barrier 3 in the field of 11, and will have Dylan Browne McMonagle in the saddle for his second-up assignment.
