Was initially dissapointed with todays run until i seen the replay. He was slow out as per normal but copped 3 very big checks both entering the 1st turn and exiting the 1st turn. He still ran home well for 4th which is ok.

He is nommed for Angle Park 600m now as thats what he needs. To hard to guess when 643m races will be programmed for gawler as have nommed him a couple times now and no 643m race has been put on.

So have taken the gamble and nommed for Monday 600m and Thursday 600m in the hope he can get 2 600m runs in next week so we can then look at stepping him up to 700m when he has the required work put into his legs.

Here's a theory I go by that has brought me much joy over the years.

Dog from box 3, paying over $10, get on it.

It's a little punting religion I have.

It's not proven for a profit, just a habit I have.

"Threedog theory."

I love the 6 box and Angle for some reason, especially when its a roughie.

what chance does Ryles have?

For the first time in his 30 starts i didnt even back him myself as i was not confident at all. He is working his way up to the 731m at Angle Park down the track as he is running more and more like a stayer. Way to slow out and doesnt get going til the home turn over the 500-600m races by which time he has given the leaders an enormous start just like he did again tonight only to be beaten 5 lengths at the finish.

Some good dogs in that race.

Senni Rob, Zimran and Phil's Pride.

Would think Ryles and Window Shopper would be good value bets in this one.

Exactly right its a very very good field.

As the sponsor of the race im more than happy to get this sort of field for the race.

My boy is certainly up against it BUT in saying that this distance is more to his liking.

Zimran & Phils Pride will probably be the 2 leaders and Uncle Remus is certainly a swooper that flies home like my boy should.

I wouldnt be surprised if we start around 20-1plus

TIme to win back all that money then!!!

Na, good luck. With all these good mutts in the race, hopefully Ryles can stay clear of the carnage at the start and zip on by to the finish line!

Zimran & Phils Pride should be the leaders hopefully leaving my boy a clear passage to the rail and right behind those 2 and not behind a trackfull of butts. Im hoping he can go close to running a place at least but as stated it is a very good field.

Didn't get to see the race, but from what I heard on the radio it sounds like he settled nicely out of the box and got a clear run at the rail coming around the final turn. Top run, but I bet you can't wait until he goes 700+ metres!
