I think Admire had a heap left in the tank. For mine Lucia got too far back and would need to be closer, although it will be at Flemington so the straight might work in its favour.

A week or so ago I backed Fawkner. Between the three, I hope to get the trifecta!

I've been backing Fawkner for 3 years now and the thing is a sensation.
Was poorly ridden last year in the MC.
Only comes out once a year for a reason and I'm a little disappointed the Cox is it's main aim this year.
Listened to TAB radio today but I can't remember who was analysing things.
Fawkner was 2.3 seconds quicker than any of the front runners from the Caufield at its last start.
Would love to see Fawkner win the MC.

Beero.... SO WOULD I! I got Fawkner at 18's and it's into 10. One of my mates had it at 81's to win some double with the Cox Plate and would've won 4g's. He was spewing when Adelaide ran it down. I still think - even after all these attempts we haven't seen it's best at the 3200. I'm really keen, although I really think Admire Rakti had a leg in the air when it won last week. I've heard radio sources say that as far as Jap horses go, it's a C grader. If the Jap's get serious, the whole thing will be a Jap podium finish and more.

If Fawkner wins, it must be dubbed one of the superhorse's of the decade (in Australian racing parlance).

Caravan needs to win Saturday to guarantee a run. Can it?

Can it? More chance at Flemington than anywhere else IMO. I'm not backing it this week but you have to respect Geelong cup form on recent experience.

Williams stays on which is a huge positive IMO, extra distance which I think it'll like. Negatives, extra weight vs Like A Carousel.... dunno. Signoff and Marksmanship seem stronger IMO.

For me - I like Marksmanship. VERY open race!

Araldo draws 24 in the Cup

the barrier will have no impact on this runner as it will settle worse than midfield.

I had $50 on the nose for He's your Man and $10 EW on Happy Trails whom I always back

Needless to say - I wasn't happy - first time I've ever barracked against HT

First time I've kicked the bin even though I actually came out in front
