SUNSHINE COAST RACE SIX: 7 the eachway selection
Tipster: BRIAN BLACKWELL
The in-form team of Chris Munce and trainer Kelso Wood should continue their formidable winter association by taking out the Glasshouse (Listed) hdcp 1400m at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday with the smart and consistent (7) Belltone 7/2.
The Brahms 6YO could hardly be in better form. He beat a strong field in the Eye Liner (Listed) 1350m at Ipswich last start on June 16, and that followed his 2nd/13 in the Grp 2 QTC Cup 1300m at Eagle Farm on June 2. He's had 12 tries at today's trip for 5 wins and 4 placings. He looks likely to be right in the finish. His danger will come from (3) Jetset Lad 7/2, a most unlucky 2nd/10 in the Tatts Mile (Listed) 1600m at EFarm last week. He is switched back to 1400m but that shouldn't be an insurmountable problem. He's adept on heavy ground.
CAULFIELD RACE SEVEN: 4 the eachway selection
Close to hitting her absolute best form, (4) Sussuro 4/1 gets the chance for an overdue win in race 7, a fillies & mares Cup hdcp 1600m at Caulfield.
The Tony Noonan trained 4YO turned in a bold effort for her 2nd/11 to Galileo Gold in an Open hdcp 1600m at Bendigo on June 17. That followed her 5th/10 to Andromache in a Mares hdcp 1400m at Sandown-L on June 2. Her ratings suggest Sussuro is poised to hit her peak. She gets in with 55kgs after the claim for Jake Noonan, and this is only 1kg over the Limit. If she can get today's mile trip then (2) Manhattan Maid 4/1 figures as the main danger. She was 21nd/12 to the useful Club Command at Flem 1410m on June 16.
CAULFIELD RACE FIVE: 1 the eachway selection
Key form factors point to a winning run from (1) Platelet 5/2 in race 5, a 3YO Fillies hdcp 1200m at Caulfield.
The Strategix filly, trained by Darren Weir, comes in off a last start 1200m win against her own age/sex at Flem on June 16. She led all the way. That followed her nose4 2nd/9 Caulfield 1100m to Zamorar on May 26. Platelet has raced 10 times for 3 wins and 6 placings. She's a winner at track and trip at Caulfield. She's had 4 runs over 1200m for 2 wins and a 2nd. She's a winner on slow ground. Her ratings put her right at the top of today's company and even with 59kgs she should be right in the fray. Back to 1200m, (2) Roses In The Glen 7/2 figures as the main threat. She's had 5 tries at the distance for 3 wins and 2 2nds and she's a winner on slow going.
Straight to the point for Laconic Lad at Geelong-S

GEELONG SYNTHETIC RACE TWO: 3 the eachway selection
Tipster: BRIAN BLACKWELL
Racing at what is probably his peak, (3) Laconic Lad 5/2 seems to hold a very strong chance in race 2, a Mdn Plate 2100m at Geelong-S on Friday.
The Ustinov 3YO, trained by John Symons & Sheila Laxon, ran home solidly from last and wide on the turn to finish 2nd/8 to Genuine Spin in a 3YO hdcp at Flemington 2000m on June 23. It was a sparkling performance - and certainly one that should see him dominating today's rivals. Two runs back, Laconic Lad was a nose 2nd in Mdn ranks over the Geelong-S 2000m trip on June 15. He's having his 9th raceday start and a victory looms.
GEELONG SYNTHETIC RACE THREE: 3 the eachway selection
Luke Oliver's filly (3) Estada 5/2 only needs to perform at the same level she did last start to prove the winner in race 3, a Mdn Plate (3YO Fillies) 1300m at Geelong-S.
The Estambul 3YO has raced only 5 times for 4 placings. At her latest start she finished a close 2nd/9 in a Mdn 3YOF 1200m at Geelong-S on May 29. That followed her 3rd/10 over the Echuca 1112m on May 15 when first-up since early Feb. Given a month's letup, Estada should be ready to ping. Brad Rawiller is the rider and he has a good association with the Oliver stable.
Declare war with Rebel Truce at Caulfield

CAULFIELD RACE EIGHT: 2 the eachway selection
Tipster: BRIAN BLACKWELL
Racing in peak form, (2) Rebel Truce 10/1 appeals as an eachway job for race 8, an Open hdcp 1200m at Caulfield on Saturday.
Patrick Payne's Bel Esprit 5YO has won his last two starts. He scored in an RB89 hdcp 1200m at Flemington on Apr 25, downing Verdasco, and then won a similar class race at Mildura 1200m on May 19. Payne has given him a break since then (6 weeks) and I fancy he will have Rebel Truce primed to run a big race. He's engaged Steven Arnold for the ride. The danger could come from (5) Jugahlation 3/1. The 4YO's form is excellent and his ratings stand up well against today's rivals.

GEELONG SYNTHETIC RACE EIGHT: 8 the eachway selection
Tipster: BRIAN BLACKWELL
In-form mare (8) Riverina's Girl 8/1 has the form and ratings to say she can score in race 8, heat 2 of the Winter Challenge Series (BM72) 1200m at Geelong-S on Friday.
The Stratum 4YO, trained by Nikki Burke, comes in with a string of top runs to her credit. She won at Geelong-S 1300m on May 22, then scored again at Kyneton 1200m on June 4 before a last start 2nd/10 Geelong-S 1200m in BM78 on June 15, btn 2.2 lens by (1) Bon Genre 7/4. This pair shoulkd be fighting out the finish again. Riverina's Girl has Chris Symons aboard while trainer Steve Theodora has gone for the 2kg claim of Jackie Beriman to reduce Bon Genre's weight impost to 59.5kgs. I give a slight edge to Riverina's Girl.

WERRIBEE RACE SEVEN: 1 and 2 bracket selections
Tipster: BRIAN BLACKWELL
Form and ratings signal that (1) Produced 12/1 and (3) Ortayga 6/1 form a value bracket bet for race 7, a BM72 hdcp 1100m at Werribee on Thursday.
Produced caught the eye with a sharp run for 3rd/11 in BM78 class at Swan Hill on June 10. The 7YO was 4th/8 in an Open hdcp at Wagga 1200m before that on May 26. He's drawn well today and the apprentice's claim cuts his weight impost to 59kgs. He's got a good record at 1100m - 4 wins and two 2nds from 9 tries so he's in the right race. Ortayga improved a lot last start to finish 2nd/11 in a BM72 at Bairnsdale 1206m on June 17, btn a half length and conceding 4.5kgs to the winner. This 7Yo is capable of a lengh or two improvement and this will bring him in with an undeniable chance.
Go The Tiges!!!
