It’s been four years since the Dons rolled the Crows. Their last two trips to AAMI have resulted in utter floggings. I can’t get the Dons right. I struggle to get the Crows right. Callinan out, I liked his input in his two games. Henderson in, who has improved, Brodie Smith is a good rookie. The mug Slattery comes in for Hibberd, straight swap. I think Adelaide’s midfield is better. Jacobs is better than Ryder in the ruck. Moron is still playing though as second fiddle. Could be a frustrating loss where we should win but we juuuust can’t do it. Bugger it. I’m backing the Crows. Don’t expect many goals to be kicked tomorrow night either. 150 to 170 total score range.
Adel won past 5 v Ess av over 50 pts. Adel won past 5/6 v Dons at home, winning ave 82 pts. Ess lost past 8/9 at AAMMI ave losing score of 62 pts. Ess lost past 8/9 away, ave losing score 45 pts.
Game 2: Richmond v Gold Coast
Can anyone tell me where this game will be played? Doesn’t matter. On form, I like the Coasters at the line here. If Ablett plays. Pivotal Ablett plays. Otherwise, haven’t been impressed with the Tigers. Great chance last week and weren’t good enough. Bock should have Riewoldt’s measure. Bugger it again, I might just back GC straight out. I’m having a frustrating season.
Game 3: Cartlon v Collingwood
Lachie Henderson v Travis Cloke. I’m licking my lips with glee here. The Blues will need to play out of their skin to get close to the Maggies. Waite out hurts their avenue to goal. Has the off-field stuff played games with them? I doubt it. Should really do some damage to the Blues here. I’ll back them to clear the line.
Game 4: St Kilda v West Coast
A lot of money been put on the Coasters, who seem to have conquered their travel hoodoo. Did over Carlton in dominant fashion a few weeks ago. I look at the line up and the Saints have winners on every line, Montagna a consistent possession getter against these lads. McEvoy is improved, improved enough to go with Cox is the big question. Toss of the coin, I’ll follow the smarts of the SA footy folk who have gone with the Coasters. Lost 9 of the last 12 under the roof of Etihad though. Some big ins in Waters and Lynch though.
Game 5: Melbourne v Port Adelaide
Along with the Gold Coasters, I think the Power are a value bet this week. The Demons off the bye aren’t all that reliable, they’ll either flog them or lose. One point the margin last time at TIO. I’ll take some of the Power straight out but cover my butt with the Dees in multis. Got a lot of young guns. Too many for the Power it would seem….
Game 6: Sydney v Fremantle
Tipping a tight match here, Freo rolled the Swans in Sydney last year, Swans returned the favour at Patersons this year. They say in tight contests, back the home team, although the $3.30 odd for the Dockers seems overs given recent history.
Syd won past 9/10 at SCG v Freeo.
Take away AAMMI wins, Freeo lost past 6/7 away at an ave losing score 66 pts.
Game 7: Brisbane v Geelong
Geelong. By a lot.
Game 8: North Melb v Western Bulldogs
Gee, the Bullies surprised with an easy win over the Blues. The form of Cooney has been the catalyst really. The Kangas haven’t rolled the Bullies since 2008. Boyd tends to collect plenty of ball against these lads too.
Dogs won past 4 at Ethiad v North, last two by over 70 points.
