A

But then revert it to the old system of 1 v 8 , 2 v 7.
Make the advantage of finishing higher worth something more.

You get the 1st week off if you finish 1st or 2nd

You get the 1st week off if you finish 1st or 2nd

And then get an easier match in the 2nd week

Should have a top 18 for the finals.

I prefer A on the proviso there is no pre finals bye as this way 1 and 2 get the week off and earn an advantage going into the series.

More games of football means more chances of injuries. AFL won't like that.

Instead, the top 10 go to an event at Crown, where their captain walks up and presses enter on a computer. That runs the =rand() function in excel.
Teams are then ranked on their result, and the premier is declared accordingly.
As a benefit for finishing top, they get 1 re-do if they aren't happy with their first rand score.

My guess top 10.......

Instead of the bye week off we will see SUPER WILDCARD WEEKEND!! which will have:

7th vs 10th
8th vs 9th

The two winners of them games will join the top 6 to make the standard top 8 finals we see now.

Gives the AFL 2 extra 'finals' on standalone weekend which currently isn't being used.

Somewhat copies the concept of the NFL playoffs, we know how much they love to do that.

Would also mean ladder positions right through from 1-11/12 would become media topics.

1-5 (in the race for the top 4 and current double chance)
6-8 (in the discussion of avoiding the dangerous wildcard finals)
9-12 (the outside roughies, could they make it with a wildcard into the finals)

Whatever they run with, we'll still miss the finals

Nah, we’ll make them.

Winning one is a different story

I like A, it gives a genuine advantage to the top 2.
While we are at it have a pre GF bye, do all the other crap that weekend, AA, Brownlow etc

Yuck, the 1 v 8 system was a mess, no thank you.

A final ten would be a joke, e.g. the Swans would have made it this year.
