Jack Gunston retires a 6 time premiership player
Whilst Jack said it was tempting to play on to chase a record equalling 7th flag and 4 in a row. He can retire with the satisfaction he has made full forwards sexy again with his 90's style play reaping him a 100 goal season in 2026. It was the first since Buddy Franklin all the way back 2008. Gunston rarely left the F50 and parked himself in the goal square for much of the last 2 years, exposing defenders who dont know how to defend anymore. He said they time was right for Calsher Dear to make the forward line his own after having a breakout season in which the up and coming star kicked 75 goals for the season to stamp himself as a top 10 player in the game.
Gunston will move to the Crows as an assistant to Nicks as the Crows seek some sort of clue as to how to beat the Hawks who they have lost to in the last 3 premierships deciders. It is somewhat of a homecoming for Gunston after starting his career at Adelaide. It is probably the biggest sliding doors moment in the history of football, the day he was traded from the Crows to the Hawks.

We will see the introduction of each player has a velcro tab on their short where a ribbon is attached, if the ribbon is removed the player must stand there, put his hand up and give the ball to the opposition player that removed the ribbon for a free kick. This will replace that horrid tackle or bump thing where players can sometimes sustain an injury.

Once the ball has traveled more than 15 metres in the air it will change colour so the umpire can easily determine if it's traveled the required distance.

If a team is more than 10 goals ahead the opposition will recieve a kick in starting at centre half back for each goal that is kicked while the margin in 60 points or more.

After each game, the team finishing second (a nice way of saying the team that scored the least) will hear their song played first followed by the playing of the team that ended the game with the highest score.

We won't have finals for the top 8, the top 19 will play finals and every player on every list will win a medallion.

The top 19 playing finals is a good idea
I’m sure the Essendon supporters agree

Will be 20 teams by then so they will still miss out.

Palestine will be the 20th AFL Team as the AFL cracks under the pressure applied by the PM.

Palestine goals will be worth 18 points and their players can say whatever
they want to on the field...

edit: their goals will be worth 18 points between rounds 1-20, rounds 21 - 24 + finals they will only be worth 9 points.

The AFL continue their stance on ramping up penalties for homophobic slurs, since 2025 there have been 12 instances and the penalty is now 16 matches and de-registration. The AFL is confident this is the right deterrent tool and is stubbornly sticking to the process.
