I assume the two Adelaide Oval matches on Saturday are separate sessions? I.e. the crowd has to 'clear out' after the conclusion of the first one? Will presumably boost attendance from 2024 if that's the case.

Given the time difference you would think so.

Yep even though the clubs and most the football supporting public said they hated it

Imagine how rinsed you'd be by half time of the 2nd match otherwise.

If Port play at home on a Thursday I don't mind it, plus you know the club would get plenty from it with stand alone exposure.
If Port play away on a Thursday night then I'm fine.
If anyone else is playing on a Thursday night I'll be tuning in.
For mine, no issues with Thursday night footy and I think it is infinitely better than getting a 3:40 or 4:40pm Sunday home game. They suck.

Used to hate Thursday night footy when the kids were younger, I've grown to like it now as it provides me with something to watch on the idiot box on Thursdays.
I hate it for the fact that most tipping comps want your tips in before the teams are finalised and it's a pain in the arse if you play supercoach etc.
I love the Sunday twilight game, used to love it hosting box but could understand the annoyance if you were a member, I'll always have it on in the background while I'm cooking a roast when it's a neutral, usually the 3rd leg of my Sunday multi too.

Just saw this.... I'm a big fan of Thursday Night Footy, maybe not now if I have to watch Essendon the most now
Essendon will play the most with four, while Carlton, Hawthorn, Geelong, Western Bulldogs and Brisbane Lions will each play three Thursday night games in the first 16 weeks.

Excellent, I can get my disappointment sorted before the weekend even starts.

Gifting Essendon these prime Thursday night games smells the same as when the AFL gifted Carlton all those Friday night games a few years ago when they were supposed to be the “next big thing”.
They’ll never learn…

It could be worse, we could be selling our home games...
