I did speak to him in person just a couple of hours ago and he was very complimentary of Port on a number of issues

Your shout then? ;)

Ive found when speaking of financial issues with carey to use as small words as possible. He can get easily intimidated and confrontational about such topics.

Ps.. who would have guessed Carey would be the one port fan that couldnt resist the SANFL still owes port lure. :-)

Adding to the talent at Alberton and on the back of SANFLW 2021 BnF winner Lauren Young joining Port Adelaide earlier this year, 2023 winner Piper Window from Glenelg was taken at pick 19 in last nights AFLW draft.

Glenelg midfielder Piper Window has been selected by Port Adelaide as the club's first pick (pick 19 overall) in the AFLW Draft.

Window was named captain of the 2023 under 18 All-Australian team, capping off an outstanding season for the young star.

She claimed the SANFLW best and fairest award earlier this year following a dominant season for Glenelg, and represented the Australia under 18 team as part of the AFL Academy Girls program.

From 11 SANFLW games, she let her football do the talking in 2023, averaging 20.3 disposals, 7.9 tackles and six clearances.

The 18-year-old was also awarded the SANFLW breakthrough player of the year and the coaches award for her outstanding performances across the season.

Window is the first of two picks required for Port Adelaide to complete its 2024 AFLW list.

South Adelaide defender Alissa Brook has been selected by Port Adelaide as the club's second pick (pick 25 overall).

The athletic defender broke into the Panthers' league side for Round 11 of SANFLW in 2023, holding her spot for the final three games of the year, including the grand final.

At the AFLW Draft Combine, Brook recorded a 72-centimetre running vertical jump and 58-centimetre standing vertical jump, ranking her inside the top five nationally for both tests.

She also recorded a sub-3.3 second 20m sprint which, coupled with her impressive agility, makes her an all-round athlete worthy of a shot at AFLW level.

Brook is the second of two picks required for Port Adelaide to complete its 2024 AFLW list.

Port still relying on the SANFL to produce their players. Why don't they get them from the VFL?

Todd Marshall expected to sign a long term deal, reportedly 5 years, in the coming weeks taking him past his FA eligibility.

Seems a large time period, you happy with that?

He's just gone 25 and has 138 goals in 97 games, given his personal trauma across two seasons it's about right, he had a torrid two years not long ago.

I'd like to see him establish himself as a 40+ per year goal kicker ( 36, 45, 24 the last three years with 21 games each year ) and if he can then 5 years is right. He was injured most of 2023 so we'll see how he fares this year, I perhaps might have wanted to see that before a long term commitment given Georgiades has signed long term and Lord has penned a new deal. He'd have been a hot commodity on the open market though.

I've never seen opposition clubs supporters rubbish a coach as much as they do Hinkley. The fascination you all have with Port Adelaide runs deep, doesn't it?
