Won’t get a game whilst the cricket pitch is there.
I think there will be 2 games at Norwood again next year and tie it in with the Norwood Food and Wine festival and then probably 2 or 3 in the country. AO to host 4 games

So no more games at the Gabba??

Or Sydney.
I thought Mt Barker had turf decks as well?

Just on the McLaren Vale option.....where would they play it?

Yes Mt Barker Summit oval does have Turf pitches in the centre. They were so well grassed it was hard to tell they were there but they definitely are !

Where ever they play games in the Country the AFL will have to spend MANY millions to get a ground up to standard. I heard that $4,500,000 was spent on Mt Barker getting it set up for just this 1 game and thats on basically a brand new oval that was supposedly up to standard facilities wise to host State level footy and cricket. Not really familiar with any ovals in the Barossa but obviously they dont have one close to the standard of Mt Barker so it would cost even more to host a game there. Hard to imagine the current McLaren Vale Oval being converted for an AFL match and i'm guessing there isnt any other venues in the area that could be used either?

The only ground down this way would be South Adelaide.
McLaren Vale just down the road a bit.

I struggle to see more than 1 game going outside the city, the work they did at Mt Barker was incredible and the oval surface was already close to AFL standard to begin with. Maybe the gov't will help fund a similar new facility in another region rather than tarting up an existing ground?

Cant see anyway McClaren Vale region could host a game without a new facility or they would probably just play it at South Adelaide.

Wingard requires surgery on his lacerated tongue.

That's as bad as I can think of an injury being.

Mark it down. Carlunga will be either the 51st or 52nd venue to host an AFL game.

I'm a bit surprised Alberton hasn't been thrown up as an option given the facilities there are clearly AFL standard (visitors and umpires rooms perhaps borderline).

I doubt the comp would be to pleased with port profiting twice from the weekend

Once the redevelopment is complete the Williams Stand / AFLW rooms, will most certainly be up to standard and the old visitor rooms could be used for the umpires, or as it is currently, part of the Allan Scott HQ.

I don't think they'd play anyone other than Port Adelaide there and it wouldn't have the capacity required.

Woodville would be my suggestion, plenty of room in the southern end for food trucks and toilets, the surface early in the year would be fine and capacity much higher than most suburban grounds.

It's 1.3km from Woodville Park Railway station to Woodville Oval, works for public transport too.

Elizabeth would be the one IMO, big oval, no cricket pitch, good surface, plenty of room in the outer and just upgraded their changerooms - would tick a lot of boxes
