I'm not, I think Robbie Gray has two more years left and I'm a massive wrap for Kane Farrell who is currently behind Rozee and Butters in the small forward / short burst midfield role.

An "in principal" agreement apparently has Fantasia in for SPP and pick 29. Not happy with that.

Yep, I'd rather have SPP than Fantasia

What's your thoughts on Ablett and Taylor?

Well you said:
Booney wrote:The problem isn't with them being in the side if they're playing well, the problem is if they're not in the side injured or playing poorly, then the spot on the list becomes wasted,

Well they played nearly all games in 2019 and didn't keep anyone out of the side. Ablett, in particular, was more than handy....except in the finals. If he plays like he did in the finals then he is wasting his and everone else's time.
Taylor will probably be in and out and will be handy in the magoos and a handy back up. So I'm not fussed either way.
I just hope we can get an earlier pick or 2 and pick up a couple of ready made youngsters and someone that can keep Blicavs out of the ruck...

He was at the airport earlier today when I was there. Love to know how the media knew exactly which flight he was on as they were all there waiting

Because scum bag ambulance chasers are camped out at every airport looking for a "breaking" scoop.
Surprisingly the media dont camp out at the airport. And I'm there mon-fri.
It's funny watching the Fox guy do his piece to camera getting all the angles right cos they dont have a cameraman

For me, the problem with the cat defence is that it's too tall and too slow. We really missed the youngster Clark in the side in the backline, he helps provides some run (and yes I know he played on the wing at times). Ablett and Taylor were great players and are still good players but at the moment if we do play both it makes us a slower combination over the ground when you consider that Selwood, Menagola, Touhy, Henderson and many others aren't all that fleet of foot either.

Our theory is you can't out run a kick but if your kick isn't accurate because faster teams have shut down your space then you don't have the pace to effectively set up your zone and shut down your opposition. You have to control the game for longer periods just to stay in the match. Our game plan is obsolete. You should look at what the best teams do, borrow much of it, then seek an edge by looking at something maybe they aren't. We are still playing the game from five or six years ago.

Geelong play too many tall defenders. Taylor is superfolous to our needs, either him or Henderson. Ablett ran out of gas big time towards the end of the year and should not play outside of the G, Cat Park and with the odd game at Comic Book park. This combination isn't winning a flag. With the same coach and the same 'top up' mentality I believe it is more of the same (but with dimished returns) next season.

Naturally some happy clappers will suggest I'm being overly negative but I know what I've seen over the past eight years. We have shown a stubborn arrogance and overestimation of our list and it's cost us badly. Why we still don't have a ruckman 8 years after Ottens' retirement is complete mystery.

REB

Melbourne willing to trade pick 3.

Sounds like good news for the Crows and Jenkins.

His manager has said Papley was thinking about walking away from the game last year and hates living in Sydney. He wasn’t happy with his living arrangements at Sydney and just wants to get to any club in Melbourne. Also claimed partner has moved back to Melbourne and a undisclosed family health issue.
