Just the first 2 games I'm stuck on. Rich v Pies- Richmond were good but they played Carlton, Is it stop Martin you stop Richmond? and the Dogs v Swans, GF reply Swans were ordinary against Port wouldn't want to go 0-2 yet I wasn't that impressed with the Dogs in round 1.
Hmmmmm

1997
Sydney were the minor premier in 1996 and get rolled by West Coast in a wet match at subiaco. They were 16th in Round 1,1997.
An 18 yr old Ben Cousins had 22 touches and was the leading goal scorer with 3 goals.

Brilliant!! I didn't actually think anyone would know (I certainly didn't), well done mate!
PS: Actually wouldn't the Roo's have been favourites in 97'?

That's my point, the pre-season fancy isn't always the previous premier
I recall us being favourite in 2015, despite not even making the GF..

You could be right with Martin as Collingwood did show some good signs against the dogs.
Its a tough one as Collingwoods midfield is pretty good but they lack forwards.

Not sure how we will go against Brissie, 30mm in a hour on the Gabba this morning and a couple of ground inspections have it touch and go for being fit to play on. If it goes ahead there with the rain expected before now and Saturday night I think it could be a soccer style 2-0 win

Key forwards aren't our problem (well, not our major one) - our problem is our leaky defence, which really is caused by our lazy midfielders and half-forwards not pushing back.

Geez if Buckley and Hardwick both need their teams to play finals to survive, they might aswell resign now
