Now that the trading period is completed, the next major event on the AFL calendar is probably the release of next year's fixture.

Carlton v Richmond to commence proceedings again?? or perhaps Collingwood and W Bulldogs, as speculated - http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-09-21/d ... son-opener

i love thursday night footy, its awesome. wouldnt care if they did it every week. the split round start that they have done previously sucked though.

I like footy tipping comps and fantasy footy, so many people end up missing out on the season because of Thursday night footy in round one.

On the other hand, having a ten year old son who will watch every single game, I'd prefer him to be in bed on a school night by the time the game finishes. A bit selfish but everyone has there preferences.

I always see on Facebook people whinging about their team playing the Sunday twilight game, I love sitting down to a few bevvies and a roast as I wind down the weekend.

I also love tipping and fantasy footy, and it is an advantage for me that i always get my teams and tips done, even on the thursday games :D

the only issue is that there needs to be either a rolling lockout or a "first saturday game" lockout as ultimate footy does, but thats a small issue

Yeah, but you obviously get countless hours to waste on the net while at work ;)

if you can find an hour during the week to read DT Talk and then another hour or two thursday night to watch league teams, 360, and do your teams, then you shouldnt be doing it.

Looks like I'm going to the Gold Coast for Easter.
Only 1 game against the Pies is the only downer from what I've seen of our draw

Port v Saints at AO to open up the season.

Won't expect many blockbuster games this year (and rightfully so), as we are no longer the draw card.

I love round one in Melbourne so I'll miss our clash with the Saints.

Just booked flights, not badly priced considering the time of year

Not looking forward to the seven Friday night games involving Carlton next year.
