Russell is in the AFL Hall of Fame

Too many recently retired players getting in instead of some of the legends of the game.

You currently qualify after being retired for 3 years.

Should be like the NFL have to be retired a minimum of 10 years. Its a disgarce that so many SANFL, WAFL and VFL players of past eras are not getting in and so many recently retired AFL players are.

South Australians in the Hall of Fame

Mark Bickley
Malcolm Blight
Craig Bradley
Nathan Buckley
Wayen Carey
Graham Cornes
John Daly
Ken Farmer
Len Fitzgerald
Bob Hank
Neil Kerley
Stephen Kernahan
Andrew McLeod
Geof Motley
John Platten
Bob Quinn
Jack Reedman
Mark Ricciuto
Barrie Robran (Elevated to Legend Status)
Walter Scott
Bernie Smith
Warren Tredrea
Gavin Wanganeen

Players in bold I believe have gone in to early and should now only start to be considered as long as they have been retired for 10 years

Ricciuto McLeod wanganeen should definitely be in there. All played 300 games, have a premiership, and have all won some of the games highest honours.

Buckley and tredrea? Not 100% sure about tbh. Yes they are both premiership captains with 250 games but is that enough?

Time probably says yes, but I do agree that people like that should probably have to wait a bit longer.

10 years is a good number to wait too imo

Buckley won a Brownlow and is regarded as possibly Collingwood's best player of all time.
Of course he should be in there.

It's silly to say he shouldn't be in there. Even though he has he personality of a block of wood.

You must have met an interesting piece of wood or two in your time.
