Sliding doors

every now and then i read Damien Barretts sliding doors article on afl.com.au. most if them are rubbish about not much but little sub plots to a players week or insignificant little ideas he has... but it got me thinking about some of my own... how about...

IF... the Bulldogs beat Sydney or get close
THEN... will they be a legitimate serious finals contender?

IF... the crows beat the power
THEN... do we blame 'key outs' or does it reinstate adelaide's potential for 2015?

IF... Mick gets the sack from Carlton
THEN... would results turn around? A list which looks as healthy as an Ethiopian toddler doesn't bode well for any coach let alone Mick.

IF... Gold Coast continue their current form line
THEN... is there much good to come for them not just this year but for the next few? Wooden spoons aplenty is my guess!

Anyone else got anything hypothetical to add? Why not speculate!

I think they would need to win at a minimum and hold that form. Whilst they have improved and are playing an attractive brand of footy, the question mark is whether they can sustain it deep into the season. The Doggies are an intriguing proposition and I look forward to revisiting this mid-late July.

They won't. Too much talent to win a wooden spoon. They will still become a finals side, not this year though.
