5AA Crows Show

Got a surprise to hear Bickley on the 5AA crow show tonight. Does anyone know what happened with McDermott?
Its good McD has gone & hopefully clown prince rowe will be next.
Kane Cornes had him rattled last week & id say would take over from him if he retires, to get a port/adel pair on, & some normality back to the show.
One can only hope...

McDermott was replaced with Bickley.

Although he was a still bitter about getting the sack from the crows he was probably the most objective of the two.

It has always been a crow show and really with Bickley there it certainly will continue along that line.

obviously you haven't listened all year, its certainly been a port power show. Perhaps port ran out of money that's why McDermott is no longer there !!!! ;)

Do you listen?

I do listen a bit but not as much as I used to.

You seem to be the only one calling it the Port show. Is that because now they are having some Port talk that since its not all about he crows you feel his way? Thats probably more the case as Mr Rowe openly loves his crows and hates Port.

Anyway ill probably listen in again.

To be honest we really need SEN over here as they do an alround sport. Would be nice.

McDermott was pathetic. Glad he's gone. If Bicks first night on the job was any indication, fair to say he won't hold back being critical of the Crows

Doesnt Bickley still work for them (AFC) in the promotions area?

McDermott was a knob but he didn't hold back either with the crows.

I listen to 5AA occasionally to get a different perspective.

Over two days last week, I heard so much navel gazing regarding the AFL draw.
I couldn't believe how long Rowe/Cornes stretched out a debate over the pre-season draw - I'm pretty certain this was the same night Adelaide City was going to be playing for a spot in the FFA Cup semis. Very little mention of that.
Then, the day following the release of the actual season draw, Tommy Rehn spent about seven minutes again discussing the draw (which was covered ad nauseum the previous night) of the breakfast show with Jane asking for her tips for the first five rounds of the season. Really?
I love footy, but...

What I like about Rowey is he'll spend the whole afternoon calling someone a sookie-lala, or calling certain decisions a disgrace. Then when a guest, or the person in question come on line, he'll say, "I totally agree with you. I totally understand". It's funny to listen to.

I certainly wouldn't call the sports show The Power Show, anyone who thinks that has little perspective.

yeah, he said he is basically a "gun for hire" to mc events, look after sponsors, go into corporate boxes and entertain etc.

tough gig

I listen to 5AA to actually hear the interviews with the other clubs players and a few of the different media people ie mathews, wilson, malthouse etc . Otherwise we get the same crows and port info from monday through to friday.

I agree there. What I think would be good is if there were some other sports involved, a bit like SEN in Melbourne.

Definetly need more sports to talk about...they get onto a topic (Tippett, state jumper, first showdown at Adel Oval etc) and get weeks worth of mileage out of it

I think Simon Hill is the only regular non AFL media person they speak to on 5AA... well during the timeslots when i listen to it anyway.

As for Bicks on the show, I dont see him as being overly outlandish or biased and think he is usually measured in what he says anyway.

Rowey and Tim Ginever would be a match made in heaven

They actually interview those people properly, rather than the constant love-fest that is a port or crows interview.

This drives me insane. If someone more important comes on and has a different opinion he immediately changes his. It's embarrassing to listen to.
