yeah, he said he is basically a "gun for hire" to mc events, look after sponsors, go into corporate boxes and entertain etc.

tough gig![]()
I listen to 5AA to actually hear the interviews with the other clubs players and a few of the different media people ie mathews, wilson, malthouse etc . Otherwise we get the same crows and port info from monday through to friday.

I agree there. What I think would be good is if there were some other sports involved, a bit like SEN in Melbourne.

I think Simon Hill is the only regular non AFL media person they speak to on 5AA... well during the timeslots when i listen to it anyway.
As for Bicks on the show, I dont see him as being overly outlandish or biased and think he is usually measured in what he says anyway.
Rowey and Tim Ginever would be a match made in heaven

Over two days last week, I heard so much navel gazing regarding the AFL draw.
I couldn't believe how long Rowe/Cornes stretched out a debate over the pre-season draw - I'm pretty certain this was the same night Adelaide City was going to be playing for a spot in the FFA Cup semis. Very little mention of that.
Then, the day following the release of the actual season draw, Tommy Rehn spent about seven minutes again discussing the draw (which was covered ad nauseum the previous night) of the breakfast show with Jane asking for her tips for the first five rounds of the season. Really?
I love footy, but...
What I like about Rowey is he'll spend the whole afternoon calling someone a sookie-lala, or calling certain decisions a disgrace. Then when a guest, or the person in question come on line, he'll say, "I totally agree with you. I totally understand". It's funny to listen to.
I certainly wouldn't call the sports show The Power Show, anyone who thinks that has little perspective.
