Gary Ablett is the best player in the comp at the moment even with his shoulder in a sling

Number 1 surprised me, to be honest.

Franklin, Fyfe, Ablett and perhaps Gray ahead of Selwood IMO.

Supposedly Matthew Broadbent > Trent Cotchin, Goddard, Birchall, Smith, Dustin Martin, Hawkins, Dayne Beams... seriously Mike Sheehan you are taking the mickey.

He is not the worst player but only just better than claye beams let alone dayne

I'll defend Braodbent ahead of a couple of them, not all.

How could anyone defend Callan Ward at 24?

Always very subjective, obviously.

callan ward is a gun. reckon mckenzie is pretty high, and danger a little low, but these lists can never have everyone on them, always decent discussion points.

If Sheehan is going on 2014 form, and that only, I would think that Jarryd Roughead should be number one.
No one can do what he does - he goes forward, goes back, goes on the ball and he rucks.
He wins games, saves games & turns games more than any other player.
First picked for mine - and by a fair bit too.

If it's based on the 50 best players in the league, Broadbent isn't in it.

If it's based on the 50 best players of 2014, Broadbent isn't in it.

Top Roos player at 44. Happy with that to be honest, shows a good team we are building.

Bob Murphy at 50? :)

Callan Ward should of been all australian. Had a ripping year. If he was in a good side he would of been AA!

And as much as I love Brogsy as a Henley boy, no way is he ahead of anyone mentioned above. Can't possibly defend him ahead of them.

Just continuing on in the Broadbent discussion, he didn't even come up top 10 in the Ports best and fairest!
