He'll never be at his best again. Sydney are stupid if they still buy him.

Sydney dodged a bullet. Will get him for nothing next year except they will pay him heaps and Essendon will get high compo pick.

Essendon defender Conor McKenna has returned to his homeland of Ireland due to homesickness and family-related reasons.

General manager of football Dan Richardson said the 23-year-old had the club’s full support to return to his native country.

“We have been in lengthy discussions with Conor over recent weeks and we are completely supportive of him returning home to be with his family at this time,” Richardson said.

“We remain in constant communication with both Conor and his family and we will continue to provide our support during this period.”

A bit of speculation Essendon will only get a 2nd round pick the way its heading for Daniher if he doesnt play this season.
The contract with Sydney wont be big enough to trigger a higher pick. Essendon may match and then attempt a trade.
Pick 9 and a future 1st rounder doesnt look so bad now does it Dodo. This bloke should be the 1st one out the door in cost cutting measures

Dodoro should have gone years ago but I don’t think the Swans ever offered 9 and a first rounder.

If I had a kid the day that Essendon last won a final it could legally sit its Learner driving test tomorrow.

Yep, sounds that way. He has always said he wanted to go back in a year or two and finish his career playing Gaelic. Is financially set up through the family business at home and just gets too homesick. Risk you take with the Irish lads I suppose
