When it got tight it was Geelong that cracked under the pressure.
It proved to be harder to keep the curse going than it was to break it, despite the umps doing everything they could to embarass Jeff.
It was the biggest 3/4 time lead ever coughed up by Geelong in a final.

Problem is, it wasn't the GF. And Geelong beat the shit out of the Hawks all night. A bruising encounter and one wonders what the lingering effect might be.

Hawthorn's poor kicking on goal let Geelong almost steal a win- ironically, Varcoe's miss at the end cost Geelong.

Geelong fans are a bit slow on the uptake despite being unable to match it with us for at least quarter of a century now.
Maybe now they will start to believe in Jeff.

On another note interstate clubs have been playing under the pressure of home finals for years yet they still find a way to win, none of them even come close to Geelongs abysmal record.

Geelong took it the wrong way and have beat up the so called "curse" thus only putting more pressure on themselves by winning 11 in a row.
Pretty obvious at the end it wasnt the Hawks thinking oh no we cant lose 12 in a row it was Geelong thinking f@#$! if we don't win this the last 11 wins mean nothing
