With the Crows season I thought it would be interesting to hear what people have heard about potential trades and free agency movements during the off season.

So far I've heard that Betts and Cooney are on the Crows radar. Getting these two players in would allow the Crows to trade similar players for high draft picks fixing the mess left from the Tippett saga..
Thoughts?

I've heard both, but Eddie wants $600K and I don't think he is worth anywhere near that amount. And I'm pretty sure Cooney will re-sign shortly with the Bulldogs.
I have two thought on Cooney, one is he would be a huge risk as his knee has been bone on bone for a while now, and two, when asked several years ago about a possible return home to Adelaide, he scoffed at the suggestion and said some pretty derogatory things about Adelaide and the Crows.

I've heard Leroy Jetter is free agent, I've always rated him highly and he is on the nose @ Essendon at present.

Melbourne are really keen in Lyons.
I reckon Luke Thompson will be traded, would think he would have some good value.
Aiden Riley, Brodie Martin I would be tradeable.

I would be going after Jack Watts, he is almost certain to leave the Demons.
Adam Cooney is worth the risk, we need outside speed.
Has Matthew Stokes resigned with Geelong?

I agree with chasing both Watts and Cooney.
Watts still has plenty of improvement and in a better side that will happen faster.
Cooney will add some needed midfield depth, and will cover Thommo who is prob destined for a forward role. Managed correctly Cooney could play another 3 years in the midfield.

Stokes has inked a new 2 year deal with Geelong today.

I know that Melbourne tried to lure McKay last year when he was out of contract. If we get Cooney I feel that he would cover McKays role and trading Lyons would almost be worth it if it can land us a high draft pick. If we can trade McKernan and Luke Thompson for a pick in the 20's maybe we could offer up that pick Lyons and Mckay for pick 2?

If they trade McKernan they will need to recruit another ruckman. And the midfield is too similar they lack outside speed.

Picking Watts would be about as successful as getting Tambling..

I think that Vince and McKay provide outside speed yet they are two names that people believe should be traded. I think once Jenkins and Walker are both up and about McKernan's number is up. Should be used in trade week.
