Round 5 v WCE @ Footy Park

Postby Booney » Mon Apr 22, 2013 10:11 am

Well, all of a sudden the Eagles appear "gettable".

Their form has been average this season with their only win against Melbourne and losses to Fremantle, Hawthorn and Carlton they are looking to be stretched against the top sides without Natinui to back up Cox and many of their guns appearing under done.

With Renouf and Lobbe playing well again on the weekend the midfield which is firing on all cylinders is giving our ample forward options plenty of scoring opportunities.

Schulz, Westhoff, Wingard, Monfries are all getting plenty of chances with Harltett and Boaky running free forward of centre and scoring multiple goals we look to have the right mix of scoring options. Interesting that Hinkley has been so keen on pushing the "team defence" line that it indeed appears we are playing a "team attack" game style.

The WCE have struggled against Hawthorn and Carlton who also play pretty attacking football and I'd like to think this week is no different. Would expect Glass to struggle to come up this week with his shoulder, if he does he wont be anywhere near 100%.

I think we can roll this mob Saturday night.

Port by 17 points.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

I'm predicting a POWER win. The margin tho is anyones guess.
If they play to their best for most of the match, can see a margin of up to 50 points.
More realistic would be 20 pts.
If they play like they did in the last quarter against Gold Coast then they will get flogged by 20 goals.
That last qtr was atrocious, NO run and No desire to BURY Gold Coast was disturbing to me.

Stevenson was initially the OUT, but he apparently stays in the side due to Pittard's "general soreness". P Stewart back in is a handy inclusion.

At the 10 minute mark of the first term we look on the end of a 10 goal smashing west coast pressure is un real at the moment and our skill level is the worst I've ever seen were fumbling the ball and our field kicking is a disgrace we'd want to turn it around and real quick!

Unbelievable come back I wrote us off with the way we went about our first half it's like it was a total different side in the second half I'm more than happy to be wrong great second half.

Hartlett fantastic, Osheas best game ever, Boaks last 1/4, only a dozen touches but 8 score involvements for Neade, Grey was good and Kane a good 250th.

Great come back I've never been so happy to be wrong

I'm currently re-watching the game on foxtel (sad on a Saturday night I know but I'm baby sitting so nothing else to do) and I don't retract my comments above on our first half it was very poor but it must be said that west coasts pressure in the first half was fantastic.

Also probably didn't give Heath and Wingard the credit they deserved but none the less great come back
