surely on field results are the concerns of football department not the CEO, unless of course he is taking the fall for giving Neeld the job!

Off field and on field are strongly linked.

I'm sure they wish they could go back in time and have their number 1 pick again in 2008 draft.

Such a bad selection, especially given the strength of that particular draft.

Obviously we're all experts in hindsight though.

Also, the fact they made Jack Trengove captain so early in his career probably showed how bad their senior leadership options were.

And Neeld - no doubt the Crows think they have dodged a bullet there.

Johnston and Lynch now both at the crows were picks 12 and 13 in this draft

Was the mastermind of Collingwood's midfield dominance during premiership year. A prodigy of Mick, meaning a 'take no prisoners' approach, but it's obviously having little effect on the pansies at Melbourne.

a great assistant doesn't (automatically) make a great coach

Very true Punky however Neeld would've gone in expecting them to be one or two tiers below Collingwood. What he's walked into is a complete shambles. That's why I don't think you can judge if he's a good coach or not.

As Malthouse will discover this year.
