Too bad. Rules are rules. If they don't suit change them. Play on...

I thought it said "banned from life"...tough, I thought, at first. But not unwarranted.

Tad harsh considering the three field umpires stated they never saw anything and a lack of video evidence.

Sounds to me like a suspension based on reputation. Innocent until proven guilty as far as im concerned.

I know they halved his AFL suspensions to 14 for lower grades - but to me, that's still too harsh.
Much of the stuff you get done for in the AFL wouldn't even attract a free in lower grades - due to the different rules, interpretations and video evidence availability.

Dont know how it happened in this case, but the good things now that some of the leagues around the country are taking cases more seriously and are making clubs more accountable to the point where if they have no control over players with undisciplined acts the club can be taken out of that competition.

Accidental head clashes can do that.

The umpires didn't see it, no footage, was the suspension just based on who it was?

If only true in all country leagues. Ugly incident in kntfl last year where a young fella was hit from behind, 80m off the ball. Out cold before he hit the deck, broken jaw and facial injuries. Offender copped only 3 or 4 weeks cos the rep game was coming up and the mug was in line to be capt. Very weak. And not that It's right, but god help him when the two clubs line up this year.

Of course they didn't, just like the umps in WWE never see the guy pull a knuckle duster out of his boots.

The 9 for the Stevie J incident was apt, I can't recall the Farmer one though.
