Yep, Brown in and Jeansch out

He will play the lock down small defender role(Doughty's role) while Dmac and Reilly create.

yep agree, Brown should play.

I don't know how confident I am with this first game. I'm hoping we come out of the blocks hard and just continually drive the ball forward putting Ess defence under too much pressure and be able to score freely. Think if we get on top early we will be ok - don't want to give them a start.

No too many surprises with selection. Otten gets the nod over Shaw, Brodie Martin over Crouch.

Either Martin or Jaensch will be the sub i reckon.

I think Johncock will be the sub or get subbed out

Not so sure about that, has had a good preseason and adds that X factor up forward especially without Callinan.

I think he was sub a lot last year due to fitness/injuries and form.

I am so pumped for tonight. Mrs SD surprised me with tickets last week. Going in with a very strong team with some players having a lot to prove.

Should be a 4-5 goal win.

for a team that said they were going to work on tackling all summer they were very poor in round 1 got 2 weeks now to get it right.

Plus the slide rule is BS but thats got nothing to do with us getting beaten

Out played by a hungrier side who wanted to work harder then us...especially the midfield!!

Agree with you Tassie Blue, our tackling was horrible! Our unforced errors were hard to watch sometimes too and our ball movement was slow and to predictable!

Sando summed it up in his press conference pretty well i thought if people heard it!

Not to many positives but good thing is it is only round 1 and things can only improve!

Considering our pressure acts in 2012 were one thing that we did really well, watching that on Friday night was like a completely different team. There were also some similarities in the way we played under Neil Craig too. Like trying to find a cute little gap with a handball, or a short kick when it wasn't on.

Outplayed and outcoached, the "honeymoon" is over for Sanderson.
Only about 5 players were decent, the rest either weren't desperate enough or were blanketed out of the game.
Wasn't much better than the performance against Geelong a few weeks back.

Thanks to the stupid split round start to the season, there are now two weeks to get things up to standard againt Brisbane.
Can't see the midfield being beaten as badly again, but even so Brisbane are no slouches in that department.
There will also have to be a big improvement down back to have a chance.
