Ha! So the Crows deny any such "agreement" exists all along, and now not only has it come out, they're risking sanctioning over it .. Don't worry Triggy, I'm sure you can lay all the blame on Matt Rendell.

What a disgraceful act from the club. No wonder players can't leave quick enough

Considering it was Trigg that told the AFL the details, does anyone think he did it to keep Tippett out of the AFL all together next year? Maybe they're that pissed at him they'd cop the sanctions just to **** him over...

my thoughts too....willing to take the hit to make him sit out a year.

And also, since the Crows told the AFL before the deal was followed through with, and it looks unlikely they'll keep their word to Tippett, can they be sanctioned? They haven't done anything YET..

So could the AFL think that pick 23 and Jessie White is not a good enough deal for Tippett and if the Crows agree to it then they are in breach of the rules?

In hindsight you just trade him for the best possible price back in 2009 rather than hope he will change his mind

Not sure if it would be worth the risk of the AFL's ire, nor the bad publicity that should come from continually denying there was any such agreement.

Also not worth a club taking their eye off the ball of trying to improve their list, environment, culture by putting time and effort into taking one bloke down.

Well as stated before, they can minimize the damage to the reputation of the club by laying some of the blame on Rendell. It just seems a bit weird that Adelaide were the ones that dobbed themselves in, when they couldve just accepted the deal, or let him go to the draft with nothing said, and no harm done.

Whats their motive for telling the AFL they did a dodge?

Maybe they were found out and were given the chance to come forward with the information - a better look for all parties.
