Looking at list changes for next year you would think there wouldn’t be much movement.

Another genuine ruckman for cover for Jacobs and if Tippet goes then a Forward/Ruckman. Possibly another CHB.

Havent seen enough of the Rookies and blokes like Grigg, Ellis-Yolman, Joyce to comment on if they will be retained or not.

You would think Young (confirmed), Symes and Tambling (has 1 more year left on contact) could be moved on, along with Knights.

I have heard we are after Brown from Collingwood.

Nutter will be upgraded to a full contract. Bling is one of the blokes you could ever meet and hopefully he will get more chances next year. Luke Thompson has been offered a two year deal but is yet to sign it.

Glad you asked. I had no idea either!
I just wasn't interested enough at the time, with other things going on yesterday, to take time to ask.

Nice to hear Callinan is going to be on the main list. He deserves the financial security after battling away on the rookie list for 2 seasons, but footy isn't always fair.

Giles coming would be great. Would be an excellent backup and has ability up forward. Probably not ideal to have him up forward as much as Tippett was, so would be something for Sando to work out.

I do wonder what we'll do with the $1m in cap space we should have available. Unless we used Knights' portion already to sign up other lads, could make us a massive player but not sure what fish are left. Surprised given this we didn't make a play for Monfries. Since he only cost port pick 40 odd, we obviously don't rate him too highly or see no place for him.

Probably the 400k over 4 years Price tag which put us off Monfries...

versus whatever Callinan is on... similar types

just on Giles, for the money they are offering you would think he is a big part of the plans at westlakes. I think he would play that Tippett role very well, he is a goal kicker. Has a great setshot. Could easily be a 40 goal forward and backup ruckman.
Would be bad news for Jenkins though.
Whether he chooses Crows over GWS is another thing.

I don't mind the new away guernsey's. At least it doesn't copy all the other teams this time.

Now that the heat will start to be turned up (both literally and on the training track), I have had a look at our list and had a go at a potential starting 22 for season 2013. This is my opinion only.

HB: 3. Brent Reilly, 12. Daniel Talia, 14. David Mackay
C: 7. Nathan Van Berlo, 5. Scott Thompson, 17. Bernie Vince
HF: 23. Jared Petrenko, 13. Taylor Walker, 11. Matthew Wright
F: 40. Jason Porplyzia, 4. Josh Jenkins, 37. Ian Callinan
R: 24. Sam Jacobs, 32. Patrick Dangerfield, 9. Rory Sloane
I/C: 2. Brad Crouch, 26. Richard Douglas, 33. Brodie Smith

I think your pretty much spot with that side. Tom Lynch might be one to hopefully cement a spot in the forward this year.

I was going to put Lynch as one of the emergencies also, but I think Johnston is just a bit ahead of him. I think Henderson will be a good option if one of our smalls went down. It would really stretch most teams backlines.

After reading in the warfies thread about their training sessions of late, has anyone been out and seen an AFC training and wants to comment?

Does anyone know where you can access the info on session times? id be keen to have a look

Have a look in the Adelaide forum on BF, there's a pre-season thread that might help.

I doubt you'll see DMack at half back and also not quite sure about Martin in a back pocket.
VB i would like to see at half back rotating through the middle and interchange with a Smith or Petrenko type player(even though Petrenko does give us a great defensive pressure up forward)
Reilly needs to keep performing at last years level to keep Brown and Ottens at bay.
Not a bad side, but i reckon West Coast/Freo or someone really strong in the ruck department could make like difficult when Big Sauce is having a breather.
Would McKernan be an option as a sub?

Mackay played most of last year off half back, gave us some good run and rebound.

Henderson, B Martin, A. Reily, Crouch, Johncock will rotate the sub vest i reckon as they can play all over the ground. Seems to be the best option to cover an injury etc. Dont think a big key position player helps the side as a sub.

Will be interesting NAB cup with so many spots up for grabs.

Jenkins v McKernan v Graham (Could throw in Johnstone as that 2nd fwd tall
Shaw v L Thompson v Otten as that third tall
Then your bench/midfield rotations - Crouch, Kerrige, Martin, A Reily, Smith etc

Looking towards round 1: only Smith on the injury list maybe Petrenko as well - but this is what i reckon round 1 will look like

FB Shaw Rutten Brown
HB Reilly Talia McKay
C Van Berlo Thompson Vince
HF Wright Jenkins Petrenko
FF Porps Walker Callinan
Rucks: Jacobs, Dangerfield, Sloane
I/C FROM: Douglas, Johncock, A Riley, Henderson, Crouch
