Crows need a tall key defender and I have always rated Joel as a player. Good pedegree too ( Pat Hall's grandson ).

No chance. Patfull won't be leaving the Lions in a hurry.
Although our 2010 best and fairest packed his bags pretty quickly!

Might get Polec + 1st round pick, but that's about as good as it will get for Crows.
I'm thinking maybe Aaron Cornelius or Bryce Retzlaff (our emerging key forwards) + 1st round pick.

Rightly or wrongly Tippett would hold more value in the market than Patfull .. I don't think the Crows would be looking to replace him with a bloke that has only a coupla years left in him.

As for the initial post referring to JP as a Port mistake, true they let him go, but all other clubs including the Crows (who had expressed interest) had the chance to pick him up but overlooked him.

Patfull's only 27. But you're right about Tippett holding more value.
Pick 8 is our only chance of getting Tippett because the Lions won't release Redden.
Wouldn't surprise if the Lions end up chasing the big Q instead though.

Shit, didn't realise JP is only 27!

Still don't think the Crows would look at him as the main part of a deal .. Maybe a slight chance as part of a package, but highly unlikely.

I know for a fact that Patfull wants to come home. Whether the crows want him is another question.

If the Crows recruited Tambling they would jump at JP !
Crows need a tall defender in the Bassett mould and Nathan is a bit old these days. Good top up to a young emerging side. Good fit IMHO.

Kurt Tippett's playing future?

Crows don't need tall defenders. Rutten, shaw, talia, Thompson, mckernan if need be, otten.
The talk is they will get Jon Giles if tipper goes
And we will get gold coast or Brisbane's first pick in the draft as well

Thompson and Otten arent KPP and Rutten has 1 more year left - we definately need tall defenders

Rendell stated Jenkins is a legit option down back

This same tired old argument gets trotted out everytime Dogger.

It's a point about the 'having played AFL' but if that is an argument in some people's eye's, opinions on here, good or bad, are just as relevant as Michelangelo Rucci's, Caroline Wilson's, Mike Sheahan's, Patrick Smith's, Jesper Fjelstead's, Ken Cunningham's plus a truckload of others.

Mentioned today in Melbourne that Tippet has been offered a 5 year deal at Gold Coast.
Reported he will go to Suns, Caddy to Collingwood and Collingwood sends Nathan Brown and a draft pick to Adelaide.

Can't see how collingwood can't resign cloke after bowing to his demands and be able to get caddy too.
Maybe Eddie should keep his mouth shut about third party deals.
To be honest cant see caddy going to them. Geelong is what I've heard.

Gone i reckon.

There is going to be a hell of a lot of pressure on in him up there if in fact he does leave for that sort of money.

What pressure? It's a 5 year deal and he's paid shit loads.... If he duds out he still must be paid. It's not like getting $1500 a week to play in the KNTFL and if you're a dud you're run out of town. Turn it up!
