4 day break before next game

I wish they would quit whinging about this. Ice Hockey, Baseball, and Basketball players can play back to back games and with baseball some right after the other. Collingwood and Essendon have to prepare to play each other in four days and I have already heard the first whinge from the media. Before you say they are all different games yes they are. But with Ice hockey it is just as psychical as Australian Rules with the hits so I dunno why the teams are complaining.

All completely different sports.

Baseball- not a physical sport, the only players who do exhausting work the pitchers are rested in great lengths and rarely play more than 1 game a week

Basketball- game only goes for an hour, plus plenty of break inbetween.

Ice Hockey- they couldnt fit any more padding on if they tried.

Think if you looked into it seriously the distance covered by a footballer over such a large surface would be kilometres more than sportsmen of the sports you have mentioned.

Also throw in the fact in Basketball and Ice Hockey they have more players on the bench than actually on the court/ice. Player game time would be alot less than the average footballer plays.

You are getting paid truckloads, HTFU and play twice a week if required.
We want to play on ANZAC Day so we have to live with it

Are you really that thick? I'm sure all the padding, line changes and shorter game time helps those figure skaters recover. Baseball requires less exertion than cricket ffs. Basketball ppffft. 45 mins of standing around during a non contact sport. Yeah. All good comparisons to footy. You obviously never played the game.

It's not the teams complaining. It's the media commentators making a big deal about it.

Rugby does it - they'll play 3 games in 8 days

In none of those other sports do the participants run themselves to complete exhaustion.

If any of those guys had to front up for two games of Australian Football they'd soon start having a whinge I reckon. Still, they shouldn't whinge as both teams have the same break.

Both teams coming off 4 day breaks will mean both sides will be shot by 3/4 time on Wednesday. The last quarter could be run in slow motion.

Yeah I reckon you'll see both teams slow down a fair bit. Also expect plenty of changes with teams likely to have to test out there depth.

We do it every year, should be used to it.
As a bonus they get 10 days off after it

I played Aussie rules And I have backed up in younger days for two games in a day/week. Yes hockey players wear pads and there is a good reason for why they wear it. Hockey is 60 minutes all up of three 20 minute periods. You figure it out they are skating as fast as an Aussie Rules player runs and they are hammering each other for a puck. The ice has no give hence the wearing of some of the padding also that puck hitting your body at up to 100MPH wouldn't tickle. Honestly TSG have you fronted up and played Ice Hockey?

Think of the amount of line changes a Ice Hockey player makes and how much time they spend on the ice. At very least they would be playing 1 quarter less than a footballer. Also think about the size of an ice hockey rink (sp) and the distance covered would be alot less. The padding would make a huge difference as well or else they wouldnt wear it.
