The crowd numbers at AAMI have been in a decline in recent times particularly at Power games. I thought I'd pay a little closer attention to the numbers this season. Both tenants have shown promising improvement in form on the field which hopefully see an increase in crowd numbers.
Let's post the attendance up week in week out to see what happens...

I think its a great time to watch footy, you can do something for most of the day and still go to the footy and be home at a reasonable time for the kids. Dont know why people whinge about it.
Port are in real trouble if they cant get 25k to their opening game coming off a great preseason

I dont mind the time of the day to
watch footy, Sunday afternoons are typically pretty lazy. I do think it is a rubbish time to
go to the footy though.

The stupid advertising tarps influences my attendances there more than the time of the match.

the tarps are irrelevant when you are there.

The average crowds prior to 2007 was 27k or higher, since then they've lost close to 6k worth of people....
Excluding the "Showdown" they haven't cracked 40k since 2005.
6 of the lowest crowds have come in the past 2 seasons.

Anything to avoid Port supporters.

Perhaps the powers that be should be reminded that footy is supposed to be a contact game. The past 3 or 4 times I’ve been to Footy Park the umpiring has been deplorable. (add in St K’s style of footy and you have a frustrating night out)
Might get a few more through the gate who have become a little disinterested in the game at the highest level. Personally I used to go to 2-3 games a year with mates as a "neutral" footy lover but dont bother these days. Would rather go to the Parade etc on a friday night as a neutral.

Cant stand behind the back row now either. They have little yellow boxes painted at the back of the walkways against the undercover area for you to stand in.
I'll stand where I want to, thanks.

Really? I sat last night but don't mind standing at Footy Park. Cant see why they would prevent people from standing behind the back row

Was generally some good banter to be had standing shoulder to shoulder with Port/Crows fans.

The typical back row seat occupier complained too much about the ruckus behind them for that to continue!
