Match of the Year?

Is it the match of the year tonight? Top two teams looking for the mental edge?

Both sides will relish the opportunity to perform on the big stage the week before finals and will have some interested West Coast and Hawthorn on-lookers.

My tip - Collingwood by 33 in a high scoring affair.

145 - 112

It's my six year anniversary today. I bought a $400 opal pendant for my partner so I could say "right, I got you something awesome, now your present to me is to let me watch the game in peace"

I reckon it will be a fizzer tonight. Both teams will play about 10 mins of high intensity footy then drop to half rat power for the rest, and Collingwood will end up winning by about 60 points.

Didn't we have a similar game in about Round 21 last season?

While the result means bugger all, I don't reckon this match be a fizzer. Geelong are trying to find some form and the Pies won't want to go into the finals losing both matches against Geelong. One of the reasons why both teams are where they are is because they have a lot of pride and hate losing.

It will be a good game but I wouldn't read too much into the result either way (Unless the Cats pump them and then they are clearly premiership favourites ;) )

regards,

REB

Nothing more than a practise match, first time the 2 teams met was when they were fair dinkum.

PS Geelong by 22 in a huge upset.

I doubt any of the 44 players involved see it as a practice match.

I expect it to be a cracker. Neither of these sides know how to hold back and I dont expect them too tonight.

It has the makings to be.

If Collingwood win, then it sets up a potential rubber match in the Grand Final... That would get butts in seats.
It is the two greatest sides of the least few years competing when they are both in great knick.
The only current day (therefore excluding Mooney) game breaker missing is Dale Thomas.

The match is billed as Geelong being the underdogs, although some will argue that the speculation regarding Malthouse, and playing without Thomas, and their underdone players (Maxwell types), makes them an underdog.

I cannot wait for this one to kick off, and although I could be two cartons shorter if the Magpies get up, I am hoping to be treated to a sensational game of football between the two greatest teams since Brisbane circa 2001-04.

All the best to both...

AND CARN YOU CATTERS!

Fizzer of the year more like it.
Collingwood pathetic in 2nd quarter, Geelong all over them, 50 points up at half time

Ughhh - possibly THE worst performance I've ever watched from the Pies.
All credit to the Cats.
