Can we possibly?

The end of a very, very, very, very, very long season 2011 is drawing nearer for us fellas....*phew*

Can we knock over the Bulldogs who, having sacked Eade this week, have been up and down all year?

If our blokes dont show something, anything this week we are further in the poo than we think. The Dogs are gettable and surely we have some blokes ready to put their hand up?

Feeling for Dom at the moment, he's a one man fighting machine. Needs some help desperately.

I think the Dogs will have too much run and carry for us to match and they will win by about 30 points.

If we cant beat the crows with a change of coach coming off a 100pt belting, we have no chance against the dogs.

Broges coming in should strengthen our around the ground stoppage play, and if butcher can show the making of a future CHF ill be happy.

The dogs defence is their achilles heel and if schultz, gray, butcher can take advantage of opportunities we may get close.

If we fail to give a whimper, its another 12 goal plus loss to sit through.

i give us a 1 in 15 chance in winning

Good to see Gray start and play the majority of the game in the middle

For some reason I am quietly confident about this game, I think we are a good chance to knock them off

Its our best chance for a win for a while, although not expecting a win. Bulldogs by 49 points.

Today the result was irrelevant. Overall the dogs were a class above which is expected. But......

Today i saw something which i havent seen in a long time. Promise.

Butcher in his 2nd game was terrific. 6 goals and a few great conteted grabs, im liking this kid and with another pre-season into him (he looked flat in the last) and another 2-3 kg's to his frame, im seeing the making of a forward line which we can mould around this bloke.

Banner showed he can make an afl footballer out of himself. Rodan showed he can still offer some lessons to the younger midfielders and Trengrove took some great contested grabs in defence.

Today i saw heart. 60 pts is still a belting, BUT.....we fought, scratched and bled until the final siren which is a pleasing sign. Yes port adelaide is nowhere near anybody sitting from 1-12 but the players at least looked as though they wanted to be out there and try and improve. We tried new things in the last half, tried to take the game on and scored 11.4 to 9.4 as a result.

I was the proudest i could be after a 10 goal loss today because apart from the 1st qtr when i thought we were on the way to setting new records, the players gave me SOMETHING to hope for.
