On the radio they were talking about Dean Brogan retiring mid season after his latest injury setback.

Who is going to lead our rucks if the big fella isn't there?

Surely we must trade for an experienced Ruckman at the end of the season ready for next year, have heard Hampson from Carlton mentioned.

Im interested if needed....im 6ft and 90kg's and i can nearly touch a 8ft basketball ring with a running jump.
Seriously Lobbe looked good in the first quarter but i thought he faded fairly quickly after that and was killed in tap outs. His was competitive around the packs when the ball hit the deck. Worth perservering with for the rest of the year? ....Dont know yet. Would think Brogan would only retire immediately if his injuries are so bad as to make the decision an easy one or if the club feels Lobbe showed enough to play out the rest of the year.

The group I sit around at the footy only discussed my idea on Sunday.

I suggested Broges sit out the remainder of 2011 and see what unfolds with Lobbe, Stewart, Redden and Bass. If none of them step forward, give Brogan a limited pre-season and get him through 2012.

If one of the young blokes steps up, let him decide if he wants to retire or not.Looks like he already has decided.

NBL and AFL Premiership titles.
