Tippet should play as a Ruckman

Tippet is too one dimensional a forward, I think he is a far better Ruckman than he is a forward and if played solely there and trained solely there would really excel.
Instead of having the ball kicked to him high while he flails about with two guys on him. He can be a ruckman who occasionally rests forward where his presence could be used as a last resort long kicking option, not as the teams main forward entry tactic.
Also he is over paid and over rated, he really does nothing. Who cares if he has guys hanging off him, do something to fix it instead of sticking him up forward where he gives the Crows nothing. That is the important thing, he would provide more value as a ruckman than he does as a forward, drop Mckernan and bring in another small, God knows the big forward line isn't working and the Crows could use more running players.

AGREED!!!
He doesn't work anywhere near hard enough up forward, and add that to our terrible delivery, our complete lack of forward structure, he has to play as a ruckman.

Do any of you actually watch the game from behind the goals. He would be one of the hardest workers out there. Not his fault the midfielders can't kick it to him. Agree though that he should have the odd run in the ruck though.

Rubbish to say he doesn't try hard enough. Every time i have seen the crows play live the delivery into him is shocking and because of his physical presence he finds it hard to earn deserved free kicks. At skilled stadium yesterday before the ball was bounced he had Scarlett and Taylor both on him. Better forward then ruckman IMO with the structure failing him at the minute.

Agreed. It's our spudalicious midfield that's failing him at the moment.
Also agree though that while we are lacking a quality midfield, a run in the ruck certainly won't hurt.

The Crows have always had a tendency to be predictable and always try to kick to one forward - Modra, Jericho, now Tippett.
That, combined with the present tendency to leave the forward target alone with several defenders, is suicide.
I agree we would get the most out of Tippet by playing him in ruck.

Never again should that name be mentioned next to Modra's.

I agree.
There is a case to argue we need him up forward but with the ball delivery and stucture we are playing it doesnt matter who is up forward.
Unfortunatly McKernan isnt up to it as yet, but the experience he has gained this year is invalueable, remembering big guys take longer to develop.
Bring in Tahlia for a run/walker when he is fit which frees up Tippet to push in the ruck and help big Sauce out.

Personally, I think Tippet does work very hard, but regardless he still provides nothing of value to the Crows at present as a forward, regardless of why.
There needs to be a structure change now!
The easiest way to change it immediately is to remove that big tall target, it would be fine if Tippet was attracting the defenders and one of our other forwards moved somewhere else and was kicked to, but that isn't happening and it is directly the instruction of the coaches.
To be honest I don't care how hard any player works, it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is what they provide to the team, and Tippet provides nothing, it might not be his fault that he provides nothing, but it is still true.
What is easier, teaching all the players to stop kicking to Tippet as of next week, or moving Tippet out and into a role where he can provide some of that intensity to an area where it is sorely needed ala Ben Hudson. He is too tall and slow to properly provide defensive pressure in the wide open forward line he solely occupies, however in close at stoppages he ball hunting and desperation would be invaluable.
I think it is the best choice for him as a player and for the team, the possibility for him to have an impact on the game and to help rectify our movement into the forward line.
