Talk on the national game

Port V North Melbourne

Another shitty Sunday afternoon fixture that clashes with my sons junior football.

Our bogey side ( other than in finals ) the Kangaroos come to town with some wind in their sails and hitting some form.

We never hold Boomer down, Petrie is in good nick up forward and they are running the ball.

Despite a solid effort against the WCE ( who seemed to coast through the second half against us ) I cant see us beating the Roos.

I do however expect a solid showing that builds upon our last effort.

For mine :
Pearce,D.Stewart and Phillips - Out.
Ebert,Banner and Salopek - In.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

youve got to be kidding with Pearce out he was very good last week. And we need to stick with Stewart and even Phillips as they need the game time .

What are the top sides doing very well at the moment? Going in hard, applying tackling pressure and defending when they dont have the ball.Does Pearce do any of these? No. He dished up three piss weak efforts on the weekend and I bet hardly anyone was yelling at their TV as much as me.

Look past Pearceys 30 soft touches and see what you think of him.

Phillips? Too small and get pushed off the ball too easily. With Gray, Ebert, Hitchcock and Rodan all playing the small forward role, where to you see Phillips in that mix? I see him only marginally in front of Hitchy. Gray, Rodan, Ebert easily ahead of him.

D.Stewart? Why stick with someone who clearly isn't up to it?Give Lobbe,Redden and Butcher a run now, even if they aren't in form or ready. Lets see what they've got.

the good sides have inside and outside players not just one dimensional.

Hitchcock is gone and starting to run forward of the footy to get the easy touch. Rodan doesnt play up forward and ebert is not a crumbing forward he is a leading forward. i agree phillips gets pushed off the ball but i believe he needs to continue to learn how to play his game at this level. As for Stewart i think he can play just needs the confidence to play at this level. takes a great catch and can kick long goal. unfortunatley the players you have mentioned are injured or recovering from, but i would love to see butcher and lobbe and i bet the port coaches do too

I'd like the club to stick with D Stewart for a few more games. He had a good month or so in the SANFL and now is the time to see if he can translate that form, at least partially, in the AFL.

I think we're a chance of winning, but don't expect us to win. I'd expect the Kangas to win by 4 or 5 goals.

Norf Melborn are in a bit of form, as well as being a bogey side, as well as Brent Harvey gaining 39 Bronlow votes in the 13 games he's played against us. Hope we can continue our development from last week and have a sneeky suspicion we can blindside them but in reality.....were **** ed....Port by 9pts.

North Melbourne were my pick to step into the 8 at the start of the year, and at the moment they are playing like a side that could very well sneak in there if they continue to win these games. Port would be a game many roo's supporters will mark down as a win, however I saw some signs last week vs wc to suggest we wont be a pushover. North by 16 pts
