Israel Folau footage from last weekend

Saw some of these highlights on AFL 360 tonight and can't believe how much improvement Israel Folau has made in such a short time:

I reckon he looks more comfortable in his first couple of games than KHunt did.

He actually looks like a better investment than Hunt. Based on the same stage that is.

Looks like a footballer. Not going to be a world beater first up for sure, but the people carrying on "lol lol, what a waste of money" should give the bloke a couple of seasons before judging. He's still a supreme sportsman and it takes time to transfer the skills over.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Pyke is definitely the one that should be the comparison. Except for the pay packet the similarities are startling and Pyke after a few years is starting to come good.

Will have to work on his ball drop. Drops it from way to high and you'll see plenty of mongrels from him until he irons that out. Moved, marked and handballed well though.

He progressed really well, the way he moved, ran and the way he gave off handballs by getting his arms up and out to free them looked really good. At such an early stage he actually looks like he know what he's doing where as Hunt looked like he had no idea. Izzy's a very natural athlete and at this stage it looks like he's making a very good transition from RL to AFL, good on him.

Hope he does make the grade and be competitive, some of the media have been very harsh on Karmichael Hunt this year, which i dont understand what they expected of him.Maybe of his pay packet has caused some dramas, but what i have seen he is doing ok for someone playing his 2nd year of aussie rules.

Being an avid rugby league and Brisbane Broncos supporter, i always knew Folau was a big boy, but he never seemed like "towering big" in games, just bit taller etc, but in this clip i was amazed to see just how big he really is!

Still think he looked bit scratchy but thats too be expected, the question is, had he been the 1st player to convert (instead of Hunt) would he be receiving some positive feedback or would people be doing what they did to Hunt and focusing on what he can't do etc?

You think so? We must be listening to and reading different media reports because if anything, I think they've been far too complimentary of his ordinary efforts. I haven't seen much of Folau, but what I have seen, I'd take him ahead of Hunt any day of the week.

Your post. Hunt I would take first any day of the week. And I think the media has been way to harsh on him. His skills aren't up to afl standard yet but i think his work and composure in congested situations has been bloody good. He has played on 200cm players and 180cm players. He has struggled at times but second year in the game I think he is every chance of playing 100+ quality games
