What's more impressive about that quarter score is it's the 2nd highest score by a team in any quarter ever in V/AFL matches.

Only South Melbourne in 1919 scored higher:

Round 12 1919
Sth Melb 2.5 6.7 12.11 29.15 (189)
St Kilda 0.0 2.2 2.6 2.6 (18)

Was a great effort by the Bombers today, and also going by that 1919 score an impressive performance by South Melbourne in an era when those scores presumably weren't commonplace.

spelly, do you have any details on the Geelong game, I think it was early 90's (92?), from memory against the Bears. They probably didn't break any records for goals scored in a quarter, but they kicked a stack of goals (around 36 I think).

239 from memory.
That would make it likely 36.23 or 37.17.
I'd guess 37.17, generally when you score that much there isn't much pressure around and you're accuracy is up.

Final score was only 1 point off what they kicked in the Qualifying Final against North Melbourne in 2000

Correct

They kicked 14.3 in the last quarter to go from 23.14 to 37.17. Brisbane also kicked 4.1 in that last quarter, too. That match was two days shy of 19 years ago.
