I would say McLeod & Goodwin are the only two we are really feeling. Burton - meh. Bock - maybe, but Davis will have him covered by the end of the year.
McLeod + Goodwin = a drop of 8-10 ladder spots??
You must've seen something else in the squad to rate them so highly last year. IMO what you saw is still there, it's just taking a bit more time to develop than most people expected.
I'm not going to big note the side or individuals in it like some supporters tend to do. However I do firmly believe we will see Adelaide start stringing some wins together very soon, post a better result than last year, and maybe even squeeze into the bottom 8.
Yeah, I saw a side that threw off the shackles to become a goalkicking machine.
I saw a midfielder in Bernie Vince who appeared to be on the cusp of becoming elite.
I saw a key position player in Kurt Tippett who appeared to be on the cusp of becoming elite.
I saw a Redleg man in Walker looking ready to step up as the secondary forward.
I thought Porplyzia's shoulders would remain attached to his body.
NONE of these things have happened. And if you lose FIVE experienced players that on it's own, combined with what I've mentioned above this can quite easily equate to 8-10 ladder positions. In fact much less than this can also equate to that drop as there is very little between the team ranked say 6th and 12th these days. It doesn't take a lot to drop off.
You may have resisted the tempatation to big note certain Crowies but you have alas fallen for one Cyclopean trait, that is all of a sudden stating that Bock is so easliy covered. Davis ahead of Bock turn it up. Well, this week they are about even as none of them are playing.
